Alger Duane Marsden, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2026, at the age of 91.
Alger was born on May 28, 1935 to the late Florence and Margaret (nee; Harsen) Marsden. Alger graduated from Algonac high School in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Lozen on January 5, 1957. Together, they shared almost 70 years of marriage and built a life filled with family, love, and memories.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four and a half years. Following his military service, Alger dedicated 35 years of his life to serving his community through his work at the Algonac Post Office.
He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Dawn (Tom) Kreusel and Vicki (Tony) Mauk. He was a proud grandfather to Joey and Nikki Kreusel and Stevie Mauk.
Alger will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country and community, the many years he shared with those he loved and his laugh. His life touched many people, and his memory will live on through his wife, daughters, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
In accordance with Alger wishes there will be no service. Arrangements by Young Gilbert Funeral Home of Algonac.
