g medical care. During disasters, TIMA volunteers cooperate with Tzu Chi Disaster Relief Committee by going to the disaster area to help treat the sick and wounded victims. A New Chapter for Tzu Chi Healthcare in the U.S.! ❤️💚

We’re proud to share an important milestone for Tzu Chi Medical Foundation: Tzu Chi has received a New Access Point (NAP) award from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), marking our transition from FQHC Look-Alike status to a fully designated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). 🏥✨

This milestone strengthens our ability to expand access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare and develop new Health Centers in California, reaching more families and medically underserved communities. 🌿

Since establishing our U.S. medical mission in 1993, our healthcare professionals, staff, volunteers, and supporters have shared one purpose: safeguarding health with compassion and respect for every person.

Thank you to all who made this milestone possible. As we begin this new chapter, our mission continues: making healthcare more accessible and bringing compassion to every community we serve. ❤️💚

This week, we proudly celebrate National Health Center Week and recognize the vital role that Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alikes, such as Tzu Chi Health Centers, play in keeping our communities healthy and thriving. 🌿

Tzu Chi Health Centers are proudly recognized by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program and provide comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and acupuncture services to individuals and families in need. Through our Dental Mobile Clinic and Vision Mobile Clinic, we also bring essential healthcare services directly into underserved communities, schools, and community sites.

🩺💚 Bringing Care Closer to the Community 💚🩺

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Santa Anita Family YMCA to bring accessible health services directly to the community. 🌿

During July, we provided two days of dental services and two days of vision services for YMCA members and local community members. Many participants shared that, although they have Medi-Cal, it can still be difficult to find dentists and optometrists who accept their coverage. We are glad that this partnership helped make these important services easier to access.
The YMCA is a trusted community space that connects people with resources that support their health and well-being. By working together, we can reach more families, reduce barriers to care, and provide essential services in a familiar and welcoming environment. 🤝💚

Tzu Chi Mobile Clinic partnered with All Saints Church in Pasadena to provide vision services during the church’s Connect Day outreach event, which offers hot meals, resources, and support to unhoused community members. The majority of those we served are Medi-Cal beneficiaries or uninsured. On July 14, Tzu Chi Medical Foundation was honored to provide compassionate vision care through our Mobile Vision Clinic at the Santa Anita Family YMCA in Monrovia.

Our team offered vision examinations, vision screenings, and prescription glasses in as little as 30 minutes (restrictions may apply), making quality eye care more accessible for community members.

By bringing healthcare directly into the community, we help remove barriers to care while empowering individuals with the gift of clearer vision. Every eye exam and every pair of glasses represents our commitment to improving health, independence, and quality of life.

We are grateful to our partners at the Santa Anita Family YMCA for helping us serve our community with compassion, dignity, and respect. 🌿✨
