Trust can be one of the hardest things to rebuild after trauma. Sometimes, a horse can help. 🐴💜

As we recognize PTSD Awareness Month, we're highlighting one of the many ways healing can take shape at Laguna Treatment Center.

Through our partnership with Brave Grace, patients have the opportunity to participate in trauma-informed equine-assisted psychotherapy, where guided interactions with horses can foster self-awareness, strengthen communication, and encourage emotional growth.

Horses respond to authenticity, patience, and presence. For many individuals recovering from trauma, including those living with PTSD, those interactions can create powerful opportunities to build confidence, practice vulnerability, and reconnect with themselves in a supportive environment.

Healing isn't one-size-fits-all. Sometimes, it begins with a conversation. Sometimes, it begins with a connection. And sometimes, it begins in a pasture.

We've said it before, but it's worth repeating: Recovery doesn't end when treatment does! It's a daily commitment, and we're here for it!

One of the most important parts of long-term recovery is staying connected to people who understand what you're going through.

That's why we're inviting our alumni community—and anyone in recovery or supporting someone who is—to join us today for AAC Thrive, our monthly discussion focused on recovery, connection, and mutual support.

Tonight's discussion will be hosted by Melina, Alumni Coordinator at Recovery First. Come and share experiences, celebrate progress, navigate challenges, and connect with others who are walking a similar path.

📅 June 9
⏰ 4 p.m. PDT

No matter where you are in your recovery journey, you're welcome here. We hope you'll join us. 💜

Millions of men struggle with anxiety, depression, loneliness, trauma, and substance use.

Less than half ask for help.

Not because they don't need support.
Because many have been taught to stay quiet, push through, and carry it alone.

This Men's Health Month, check in on the men in your life.
Your father.
Your brother.
Your husband.
Your son.
Your uncle.
Your friend who always says he's "fine."

And if you're struggling yourself, check in with you, too.

You do not have to carry everything alone.

It's not weak to say you're not okay.

Sometimes the strongest thing a person can do is ask for help. 💜

One spray could save a life.

This National Naloxone Awareness Day, we're helping spread the message that naloxone is a simple, safe medication that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose and give someone a second chance.

Naloxone doesn't encourage drug use.
It doesn't replace treatment.
It gives people the opportunity to survive long enough to get help.

That's why everyone should know what naloxone is, how to use it, and where to get it.

On June 6, we also encourage you to wear purple to help raise awareness, honor lives affected by overdose, and help reduce the stigma that too often prevents people from seeking support. 💜

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈

Everyone deserves access to compassionate, respectful, and affirming care.

At Laguna Treatment Center, we are committed to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered on their recovery journey exactly as they are.

Because recovery is for everyone, and everyone deserves the opportunity to heal. 💜

When people think about addiction treatment, they often picture therapy sessions and group counseling.

Those things matter.

But recovery is also about reconnecting with life, building healthy experiences, and learning how to find joy, peace, and connection without substances.

That's one reason Laguna residents have the opportunity to participate in weekly outings, including visits to local parks and beaches. 🌊

If someone in your life still believes treatment is just sitting in a room talking all day, save this post and share it with them. 💜

What happens when hundreds of passionate behavioral health professionals come together in one place?

New ideas.
Meaningful conversations.
Shared learning.
And a renewed commitment to helping people find recovery.

Our team had a fantastic time at the West Coast Symposium connecting with colleagues, partners, and professionals who are dedicated to improving addiction treatment and mental healthcare.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet our team, share insights, and learn more about what we're doing at Laguna Treatment Center.

We're grateful to be part of a community that continues to push the field forward and change lives every day. 💜

Take a look at some highlights from the event!

When most people think about the health risks of alcohol, they think about the liver.

But alcohol can affect your heart, another vital organ, too.

Over time, heavy alcohol use can increase the risk of high blood pressure, irregular heart rhythms, heart disease, and stroke. In some cases, these effects can develop gradually, making them easy to overlook until serious health problems occur.

During , it's worth asking an important question:
Are you taking care of your heart the same way you take care of everything else?

Knowing your blood pressure.
Understanding your risk factors.
Talking honestly with your healthcare provider about alcohol use.
Paying attention to changes in your health.

These conversations matter.

Your heart works hard for you every day. Taking steps to protect it could make all the difference for your future health and well-being. 💜

This time of year is filled with celebrations.
Graduations.
Weddings.
Babies.
New homes.
Promotions.
Retirement.
Big moments that deserve to be recognized and celebrated loudly.

But there are other milestones that deserve that same kind of celebration, too!
The day someone chooses recovery.
30 days sober.
One year sober.
Keeping promises.
Choosing healthier habits.
Walking away from toxic relationships.
Asking for help.
Trying again after setbacks.
Continuing to show up even when it’s hard.

Recovery milestones represent courage, healing, growth, and countless choices most people never see behind the scenes.

This June, we want to celebrate those victories, too. 💜

If you’re celebrating a sobriety milestone or another meaningful recovery win this month, share it in the comments so we can celebrate with you!
