We are saddened by the passing of Guy F. Riekeman, D.C. (’72).

Dr. Riekeman was a 1972 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and served as the College’s eighth president from 1998 to 2004. During his tenure, he contributed to an important chapter in Palmer’s history and was widely recognized for his energy, conviction and dedication to the chiropractic profession. Following his service at Palmer, he continued his work in chiropractic education and leadership at Life University.

“Dr. Riekeman will be remembered as a passionate advocate for chiropractic and for advancing the visibility of the profession,” says Dennis Marchiori, D.C., Ph.D., Palmer College chancellor and CEO. “On behalf of Palmer College, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, former students, and all those whose lives were touched by his work."

On this day in 1906, David D. Palmer, D.C., FPAC - aka Dr. Dave - was born. Recognized for changing the name of Palmer School of Chiropractic to Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Dave also was instrumental in organizing Palmer's first rugby team.
