Carissa Corneil and Victor Caraballo-Bourdier of Zionsville welcomed their daughter, Isabella Mia Bourdier-Corneil, at 12:11 a.m., marking one of the first joyful moments of 2026. Born at Lehigh Valley Hospital—Cedar Crest, baby Isabella weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and measured 21 inches long—a beautiful way to begin the New Year. ✨💗

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital, Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital, Jefferson Abington Hospital, Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill were all ranked as “High Performing,” which is the highest level that a hospital can receive.

For , LVHN is honoring the theme "African Americans and Labor," recognizing the remarkable contributions African Americans have made across various sectors, including industry, health care, and social justice. This year also commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters and Maids, led by A. Philip Randolph, a pivotal moment in labor history.

Modern health care has been revolutionized by Black inventors like Dr. Charles Drew, Dr. Patricia Bath, and Otis Boykin. Their innovations in blood banking, cataract surgery, and pacemaker technology have saved countless lives. Vivien Thomas's work in heart surgery paved the way for modern cardiac care.

This month, LVHN colleagues will share personal stories reflecting on how this theme resonates with their lives and careers. Stay tuned for their stories on our social channels and share your own insights on this year's theme in the comments.
