Shanthi Project We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to teaching social-emotional resiliency through mindfulness.

Founded in 2010, Shanthi Project teaches brain-based mindfulness techniques such as controlled movement, breathing, and meditation. Students learn valuable coping and life skills that cultivate self-awareness, enhance self-esteem and promote positive emotions, helping them establish healthy and productive relationships with themselves, their families, and their communities. Shanthi Project also supports and participates in scientific research on how mindfulness and yoga benefits trauma survivors, and its approach has been proven to reverse the effects that emotional and physical trauma has on the brain.

Over the past few months, we've expanded our numbers! Shanthi Project has welcomed several new staff members to our team—and we want you to meet them, too.

👋 Please give a warm welcome to Amanda, our new Community Engagement Program Coordinator, and Kim, who joined the ranks of our incredible school-based mindfulness instructors. Below, they've shared a bit about the value of mindfulness in their lives.

We're thrilled to have these two on board! Keep an eye out for another round of staff introductions, coming soon.

We're excited to partner with Lydia Peters, who currently serves as Miss MidState's Teen 2026, for our upcoming children's workshop! Lydia, a local author and teen mental health advocate, wrote Ranger is Proudly Sad, the book that inspired this "Camp Catlandia" session. 🐱 Alongside a Shanthi Project instructor, Lydia will lead kids through one hour of mindful creativity, storytelling, and play on Monday 11/9.

Participants will leave with:
→ Four mindfulness breathing bracelets
→ Age-appropriate coping and calming techniques
→ Greater confidence in expressing emotions
+ lots more!

We can't wait to see you and your kiddos soon! Registration is open on our website: https://www.shanthiproject.org/event-details-registration/camp-catlandia-an-adventure-in-feelings-friendship-courage-proudly-beads-1

We had a stellar group for this week's full moon sound bath session! Throughout the evening, we came together in community to practice mindfulness, exercise our creativity through moon-inspired art, and release stress through Meg Green's restorative sound bath.

Thanks to everyone who came out to reflect and reconnect with themselves during this transformative time of year!

At Camp Catlandia, kids discover that every feeling has a place and every voice deserves to be heard!

This upcoming program on Nov. 9th invites children (aged 5-11) to explore their emotions in a fun, creative, and supportive environment. Over the course of one hour, they'll design colorful bracelets, learn simple breaths, and participate in imaginative play, inspired by the book Ranger is Proudly Sad.

With signs of autumn all around us, we reflected on the accomplishments, growth, and gratitudes of our past year. The surroundings were a perfect reminder that this season is all about transition and transformation 🍂

Over the past two months, we had the pleasure of participating in JOSHWAY's digital wellness series! Sarah, our Senior Director of Programs, led presentations about mindfulness, technology use, and mental health.

First, Sarah brought these topics to fifth graders at Thomas Jefferson Elementary in Bethlehem Area School District. Then, later in the series, she adapted them for Parent Engagement Night — pictured below!

Big thanks to all who helped make this series possible. Building digital wellness is more essential than ever!
