We offer Body Composition Analysis testing!
*What is Body Composition?
Body composition is the phrase used by medical professionals to refer to the percentage of fat, water, bone, muscle, skin, and other lean tissues that make up your body. Two people can weigh the same but have different wellness and fitness needs due to their body composition.
*Why is it important?
Body composition measures your overall health and fitness level in terms of your fat percentage. It measures the difference between how much of your weight comes from fat and how much from muscle, unlike your bathroom scale which measures weight only.
*How is Body Composition measured?
Our Mediana BCA scale uses bioelectrical impedance which is a tool that estimates your body composition by measuring your body's resistance to a low-level electric current. Muscles have a lower resistance to a electric current than fat. By standing on the scale with hands and feet in contact with the electrical contacts, your metrics can be accurately assessed. This test takes less than three minutes!
*Who should NOT have a BCA test?
1) Users with implanted pacemakers or electrical medical devices
2) Users with physical disabilities or prosthetic limbs preventing electrode contact
3) Pregnant women (required specialist assessment)
4) Patients recovering from surgery
