What a way to end the pool year! Biggest group yet with 19 residents making a splash at the Big Blue Bay! A few chose to sit out and enjoy each other’s company but most chose to get in and enjoy the warm water! From get some therapy sessions in to just laughing and being together in the pool! Some of our staff even engaged in a jump off the diving board—-those videos will be kept in the vault! Thank you to our life guards, families and staff for letting our residents feel young again!!!

Some dreams are worth waiting for.

For years, Highland Park Care Center dreamed of having a mural. Whether indoors or outdoors, we knew it should capture the warmth, nostalgia, and charm of a 1950s postcard.

We are so grateful to have partnered with the Carnegie Arts Center to bring that vision to life.

Their work is truly extraordinary. Every detail was thoughtfully created—from portraits honoring past and present residents to scenes within each letter that reflect the everyday moments, friendships, laughter, and activities that make Highland Park feel like home.

This mural is also deeply meaningful in its origin. A memorial gift from the family of JoAnn Tolstedt made it possible. It’s a fitting tribute to a lovely lady who gave so much to the Carnegie Arts Center and our community♥️

Our heartfelt thanks to Kyren, Bailey and the entire Carnegie Arts Center team for believing in our vision and transforming our dining room into a celebration of history, community, and the lives that shape Highland Park Care Center.

Any program is a good program when it’s outdoors! Our Birdability adventure was filled with fresh air, binoculars, birdwatching, laughter, and learning. It was a wonderful day spent enjoying nature together.
