Get to know Dr. Lela Dougherty!

Dr. Dougherty completed her residency in Family Medicine at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh and is passionate about providing the best possible care to her patients.

She feels strongly that the “art” of medicine is in getting to know her patients intimately and allowing them to be in the driver’s seat when it comes to their health journey. She feels deeply that individualization is key to a great doctor-patient relationship.

When Dr. Dougherty isn’t taking care of her patients, she enjoys gardening, cooking, riding her Peloton and watching her children play baseball and soccer.

After spending 4 years in urgent care, Dr. Byard is thrilled to return to primary care and to develop relationships with her patients.

She is especially excited to lead a patient-centered approach, untethered by the insurance-led system that is failing countless patients. Now, instead of waiting weeks or months to meet with a P*P, she can see her patients immediately--a rarity in the times of covid-19.

Get to know our very own Dr. Natalie Gentile, MD.

Dr. Gentile is a true trailblazer! She founded Gentile Family Direct Primary Care in 2019.

Over the past 2 years, she has loved the opportunity to serve her community unencumbered by the pressures of the corporate, bureaucratic healthcare model.

Through direct primary care, she has revived the doctor-patient relationship and has successfully grown her practice.

She and the wonderful Dr. Kirsten Lin, of Family Matters DPC, are the founding partners of Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh which will open January 1, 2022.
