We absolutely LOVED Toy Story 5!!
The strangest thing about Toy Story 5 isn’t that there’s another movie. It’s realizing the little girl who watched the first one is now sitting beside her own child watching the fifth. And suddenly, time doesn’t feel real.
One part especially hit home for our family. When Blaze is described as being “creative and silly” and not always understood by other kids, I immediately thought about so many children today. Children who don’t need more screen time—they need more opportunities to play, imagine, create, explore, and connect.
In our home, technology has a place, but it doesn’t get the best place. Our kids need tree forts, bike rides, messy crafts, neighborhood adventures, board games, eye contact, laughter, and friendships that happen face-to-face. Attention. Listened to. Exchange of presence.
As we watched the movie, I felt even more energized about All Things Hattie - Rooted Connections and my parent-child coaching courses.
- Children are wired for connection.
- Parents are longing for connection but there’s so many theories today.
- And sometimes the most meaningful moments happen when we put down the devices and simply play.
Toy Story may be about toys, but this one felt like a reminder about childhood itself.
