We are excited to bring A2 Magic to Alpena during our Recovery Run and Fitness Fun event. We have lots of great entertainment lined up throughout the day starting with a fantastic high energy COLOR RUN! You won't want to miss the finale! Throughout the day we have fitness games, a dump tank (our very own Residential Tech, Sean is so VERY VERY excited to see how many of you can hit the bullseye). The Grand Stand stage will host live music, stories by those in Recovery, family entertainment such as A2 Magic by Jeff Wawrzaszek, GENERATION POUND for kids and families (we are getting the RIPSTIX ready), and a Chinese and 50/50 raffle....plus so much more! Jacob Akers (AKA Boogie), a friend and co-worker, has accomplished a lot lately. He celebrated 2 years of recovery in February and recently started a non-profit called Brick by Brick Recovery, along with 3 other friends. But none of that compares to what he accomplished last week: he gained full custody of his daughter. Seeing him with his daughter last week was a beautiful thing, especially for me since she is the same age as my daughter. Not many things in life are as special as seeing a father in recovery not only get in his daughter’s life, but to become a full time dad. It is another example of what recovery can do. This probably seemed impossible to him a few years ago but here we are 🙏

If you are someone who believes in hope, recovery, compassion, and making a difference in the lives of others, we would love to hear from you!

Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Human Service required. Certification through MCBAP as a CADC, or willingness to actively work toward certification through a development plan. Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct.
