After plastic surgery, many patients are surprised to learn that gentle walking is often encouraged early in recovery.

While rest is an important part of the healing process, short walks may help support healthy circulation, reduce stiffness, and gradually ease your body back into normal daily movement. The key is to follow the recovery plan and activity guidelines provided by your surgeon.

Whether you’re recovering from a tummy tuck, breast surgery, body contouring, liposuction, or another plastic surgery procedure, understanding what to expect after surgery can help you feel more prepared throughout the healing process.

Every recovery is different, which is why it’s important to follow the post-operative instructions that are specific to your procedure and your individual needs.

Losing a significant amount of weight is an incredible accomplishment, but for many patients, it can also leave behind excess skin that doesn’t improve with diet or exercise alone.

Body contouring after significant weight loss isn’t a single procedure. Depending on your anatomy and goals, a treatment plan may include procedures such as an arm lift (brachioplasty), breast surgery, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), thigh lift, or lower body lift. Every recommendation is based on your individual needs and the areas that concern you most.

For some patients, one procedure may be appropriate. Others may benefit from a staged surgical approach completed over time. During your consultation, Dr. Ghazi will evaluate your anatomy, discuss your goals, and recommend the approach that best fits your situation.

If you’re exploring plastic surgery after weight loss or want to learn more about body contouring procedures, understanding your options is the first step toward making an informed decision.

Many people assume that liposuction is the answer to any area of unwanted fat, but the reality is that every body contouring plan starts with one important question: **what is actually causing the concern?**

Liposuction is designed to remove stubborn pockets of fat and improve body contour. However, if loose skin, stretched abdominal muscles, or changes after pregnancy or significant weight loss are also present, another procedure, or a combination of procedures, may provide a more comprehensive result.

That’s why no two surgical plans are exactly alike. During a consultation, Dr. Ghazi evaluates your anatomy, listens to your goals, and recommends the approach that best addresses your individual concerns.

Whether you’re considering liposuction, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), body contouring after weight loss, or another plastic surgery procedure, understanding your options is the first step toward making an informed decision.

Swelling is a normal part of the healing process after many plastic surgery procedures, but one of the biggest surprises for patients is that it doesn’t always improve in a straight line.
It’s common for swelling to fluctuate throughout recovery. Factors like daily activity, heat, hydration, sodium intake, sleep position, and your body’s natural healing response can all influence how you look and feel from one day to the next.

The most important thing to remember is to focus on your overall progress rather than comparing one day to the next. Healing takes time, and your body continues to recover well beyond the first few weeks.

If you’re preparing for a tummy tuck, liposuction, body contouring, breast surgery, or another plastic surgery procedure, understanding what to expect during recovery can help you feel more confident throughout the process.

Have questions about recovery? We’re always here to help guide you through each step of the process.

When most people hear the words tummy tuck, they picture a single procedure. In reality, there are several different types of abdominoplasty, and each is designed to address different concerns.

Whether it’s a mini tummy tuck for mild lower abdominal skin laxity, a traditional tummy tuck to improve abdominal contour and repair separated muscles, an extended tummy tuck that addresses the flanks, or a circumferential body lift following significant weight loss, the right approach depends on the individual.

Factors like your anatomy, skin quality, muscle separation, weight loss history, previous pregnancies, and aesthetic goals all play an important role in determining the most appropriate surgical plan. That’s why a thorough consultation is one of the most important steps in the process.

At APRS, every treatment plan is thoughtfully developed to match your unique needs, with patient safety and natural-looking results guiding every recommendation.

If you’re considering a tummy tuck, body contouring after weight loss, or abdominal contouring surgery, schedule a consultation to learn which approach may be the best fit for your goals.

Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is one of the most exciting advancements in regenerative aesthetics. This powerful growth factor works by signaling your body’s natural repair processes, helping stimulate collagen production, support tissue regeneration, and enhance overall healing.

At APRS, PDGF can be incorporated into select treatments to help improve skin quality, support hair restoration, and optimize recovery after aesthetic procedures.
Potential benefits of PDGF include:
• Improved skin texture and tone
• Increased collagen and elastin production
• Support for hair growth and scalp health
• Enhanced healing and recovery
• Improved appearance of scars

While traditional treatments focus on correcting concerns, regenerative medicine focuses on helping your body rebuild and repair from within.

Interested in learning whether PDGF may complement your treatment plan? Schedule a consultation with Dr. Bahair Ghazi and the APRS team to discuss your goals and personalized options.
