Dr. Chheda - 🍼 New parents — this one’s important: do not give your newborn water.
Babies control their appetite by volume. The moment their stomach is full — whether it’s from milk or water — they stop eating. And water has no calories, no nutrition, and no place in a newborn’s diet.
Breast milk and formula already contain all the hydration your baby needs. Anything extra just takes up space that should be filled with nutrients.
✅ Breast milk or formula only for the first 6 months
✅ Both provide complete hydration
❌ No water, sugar water, or any other liquid
After 6 months, talk to your pediatrician about introducing water. Until then — milk only. 💚

Dr. Chheda - 🗣️ If your toddler says “pasgetti” instead of “spaghetti,” or “libary” instead of “library” — relax. There’s a reason, and it’s completely normal.
Speech sound development follows a specific, predictable pattern by age:
✅ “SP” blends (as in “spaghetti”) typically aren’t expected until around age 5
✅ “R” and “L” sounds tend to develop later too — which is why “library” often becomes “libary”
✅ Full articulation of all sounds doesn’t come together until around age 7
Not hitting a specific sound yet doesn’t automatically mean your child needs speech therapy. The key is comparing their speech to the expected age range — if they’re on track for their age, there’s nothing to worry about. 💚

Dr. Chheda - 📏 If your middle school son seems to be one of the shorter kids in his grade, here's something worth knowing: height is actually the LAST step of puberty in boys.
Puberty follows a predictable sequence:
✅ P***s and testicular growth — the first sign puberty has started, triggering testosterone production
✅ P***c hair
✅ Underarm hair
✅ Facial hair
✅ Height — often the final step, and it can take longer than parents expect
Don't despair if your 6th, 7th, or 8th grader hasn't had his growth spurt yet. It's coming — height is simply the last piece of the puzzle. 💚

Dr. Chheda - 👶 Babies are born with their own personalities — a fussy baby may grow into a more sensitive child, a calm baby may stay calm. That's genetic, and it's something worth cherishing rather than trying to change.
Here's the actual parenting job: it's not about shaping your child's personality — it's about preparing them to navigate everyone else's.
That means exposing them to different personality styles over time:
✅ Extroverts and introverts
✅ Kids who thrive in teams and kids who prefer working independently
✅ Different communication and social styles
One of the earliest, most natural places this happens is within sibling relationships. Even siblings with the same genetics and the same home environment often have completely different personalities — and learning to navigate that difference early is genuinely valuable preparation for life.

Dr. Chheda - 👶 Cranial helmets are effective at reshaping a flat spot once it develops. But prevention is even more effective — and it costs nothing.
Flat spots happen from repeated pressure on one side of the head — the same arm every time you hold your baby, the same sleep position every night, the same direction they always face.
A few simple habits prevent it:
✅ Alternate which arm you use to hold your baby
✅ Gently rotate their head side to side when they're lying flat
✅ Alternate the direction they face when you put them down to sleep
If a baby consistently sleeps on the same side, it's not just the head shape that's affected — neck muscles can shorten over time, sometimes requiring physical therapy just to stretch them back out.
A small habit now can prevent a much bigger process later. 💚

🎓 College coaching can run you over $2,000. But a lot of parents don't realize their employer might already cover it.
Check your company's benefits for free college coaching sessions — many offer several per year throughout high school.
Don't wait until senior year to check. 💚

🌟"Dr. Chheda has been in our lives since the day my daughter was born four years ago. She is just wonderful at what she does and has cared for my daughter with utmost support in all areas. Every single question has been answered (and there were many over the years), and all phone calls and emails have been returned the same day or the following morning, depending on the urgency of my questions. With Dr. Chheda, I don't have to repeat myself every time, as she knows my daughter inside and out. She knows how to approach treatments when necessary and ensures that she receives the best care at any point. Dr. Chheda has guided us through numerous events, and we are grateful for her patience and kindness. She not only cares for her little patients, but for the parents as well. We love Dr. Chheda and her team at Harmony Pediatrics and highly recommend them to any parent."🌟

Dr. Chheda - 🍊 Your child says they don't like your favorite fruit. Or they root for the rival sports team. Or they tell you they want to follow a different religion — or none at all.
It's easy to take that personally. But here's a reframe worth sitting with: your child isn't trying to defy you. They're trying to figure out who they are.
Kids take what you give them, what their friends give them, what the world gives them — and from all of that, they build their own identity. Your child was never meant to be a clone of you.
What actually helps in these moments:
✅ Stay supportive
✅ Stay open to questions and conversation
✅ Don't get defensive
✅ Accept that your child may grow into someone different from you
That's not rejection of you. That's exactly what healthy development looks like. 💚

Dr. Chheda - 🍂🍁 Fall is one of the best times of year to get outside with your family — cooler weather, fresh produce, and endless ways to make it fun.
A few favorites worth adding to your fall list:
✅ Apple picking
✅ Pumpkin patches
✅ Corn mazes
There's something genuinely special about harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables together as a family. It's a tradition our own family looks forward to every single year.
Take advantage of the season — get outside and make some memories together. 💚

Dr. Chheda - 🍽️ Food is fuel for the body. But mealtimes are a source of connection — a language of love. Every bite is an invitation.
Feed. Breathe. Trust. Repeat.
That's the mantra to carry with you through the hard weeks and the easy ones alike.
