I didn't do it... my hormones did. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈβœ¨

Sis...

There was a time when I thought something was wrong with me.

The symptoms seemed to come out of nowhere.

One day I felt like myself...
The next, I was anxious for no reason.
I couldn't remember simple things.
I was exhausted even after sleeping.
I was waking up in the middle of the night.
My patience was shorter.
My body was changing.

As a healthcare provider, I started looking for an explanation.

Was I stressed?
Was I working too much?
Was it burnout?
Was something medically wrong?

What I didn't realize was...

My hormones were changing.

No one had prepared me for perimenopause.

No one told me that it can begin years before menopause and that symptoms don't always show up the way we expect them to.

Looking back, the signs were there.

Today, I know I wasn't losing myself.

I was transitioning into a new season of life.

And that's exactly why I'm so passionate about having these conversations.

Because too many women are suffering in silence, blaming themselves for changes they never saw coming.

Over the next several weeks, I'm taking you with me as I share my personal journey through perimenopause, the symptoms, the lessons, the surprises, and what I've learned as both a woman and a nurse practitioner. My hope is that my story helps you better understand your own.

Sis...

If you've been saying, "I just don't feel like myself," I want you to know this:

You're not imagining it.
You're not lazy.
You're not failing.

Your body may be asking for a different kind of care.

✨ Follow along with this series as we navigate perimenopause together. I promise to keep it real, evidence-based, and encouraging every step of the way.

πŸ’œ Drop "SIS" in the comments if your symptoms caught you by surprise, and be sure to follow so you don't miss the next episode of my journey.

Hey Sis, Let's Talk

07/21/2026

Hey Sis... ❀️

Can we stop calling it failure when it's actually transition?

Too many women are carrying shame for symptoms they never caused.

You didn't suddenly become lazy.
You didn't lose your strength.
You aren't "just getting older."

Your body is changing, and it's asking for a different kind of care.

Perimenopause and menopause are more than hormonal shifts. They can impact your sleep, memory, mood, energy, metabolism, and confidence. Yet so many women are left wondering, "What's wrong with me?"

Sis... nothing is wrong with you.

Your body is communicating. The question is: Are we listening?

You don't have to navigate this season feeling confused, dismissed, or alone. There is support. There are answers. And there is a community of women walking this same journey.

At Hey Sis Collective, we're changing the conversation, from shame to understanding, from surviving to thriving.

πŸ’œ Comment SIS if this resonates with you.
πŸ“© Share this with a woman who needs to hear she's not losing herself, she's navigating a new season.
✨ Follow for evidence-based education, encouragement, and practical support for your perimenopause and menopause journey.

✨ There's a Shift Happening ✨

Sis...

There are three phases of menopause: perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause.

The truth is, we're navigating seasons of life we've never experienced before. And unlike so many other milestones in life, there's no manual to tell us what to expect.

Maybe you've noticed changes in your sleep, your mood, your energy, your weight, your memory, or you simply don't feel like yourself anymore.

You're not imagining it.

You're experiencing a shift.

But here's what I need you to know: You are not alone.

You don't have to walk through this season feeling uncomfortable or like a stranger in your own body.

As a healthcare provider, I'm here to educate and guide you with evidence-based care. As your sister, I'm here to encourage, support, and remind you that there is hope on the other side of this transition.

So hang in there, Sis. We're navigating this shift together.

πŸ‘‡ Tell me where you are in your journey:

πŸ’— Drop PERI if you're in perimenopause.
πŸ’œ Drop MENOPAUSE if you're in menopause.
πŸ’™ Drop POST if you've reached postmenopause.

Not sure where you are?

Drop a ❓ in the comments, and I'll send you valuable information to help you identify your stage and share practical tips to help you navigate it with confidence.

Because this journey was never meant to be walked alone. πŸ’•

Hey Sis... can we talk about brain fog? 🧠✨

Have you ever walked into a room and completely forgotten why you were there? Lost your train of thought in the middle of a sentence? Forgotten names, appointments, or where you put your keys... again?

Sis, you're not losing your mind. You're navigating a hormonal transition that can have a very real impact on your brain.

Brain fog is one of the most frustrating symptoms of perimenopause, and for many women, it can leave you feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and questioning yourself. But here's what I need you to remember...

Give yourself grace.

Your brain is working hard through a season of change. This is not the time to criticize yourself, it's the time to care for yourself.

Take care of your brain by prioritizing quality sleep, nourishing your body with nutrient-rich foods, staying hydrated, moving your body, managing stress, and giving yourself permission to slow down when you need to.

This season is temporary, but how you care for yourself during it matters.

πŸ’œ Sis, have you experienced brain fog? Comment "FOG" below. I'll send you some great tips on things you can do to nuture yourself during this season. I want you to know you're not alone, and let's talk about what has helped you navigate this transition.

The Strong One Needs Support Too. ❀️

Sis...

You're the one who holds everything together.

The one everyone calls when they need something.

The one scheduling appointments, remembering birthdays, checking on family, making sure everyone else is okay.

But let me ask you something...

Who's checking on you?

So many women carry the invisible mental load every single day, especially during perimenopause and menopause. You're managing the changes in your body while still showing up for everyone else. That kind of weight can become exhausting.

And while it's okay to ask for help, I also know that asking isn't always easy. Sometimes the mental load of explaining what you need feels just as heavy as carrying it all yourself.

Sis, hear me...

You were never meant to carry it all alone.

You deserve support, too.

That's exactly why Hey Sis Collective was created, a safe space where women navigating perimenopause and menopause can be seen, heard, supported, and reminded that they don't have to do this alone.

If this resonates with you, comment "ME" below. ❀️ Let's remind each other that even the strong ones deserve someone to lean on.

Let's talk about how our bodies talking to us.

07/08/2026

Hey Sis... can we have an honest conversation?

Transition has a way of revealing the parts of us we've been too busy to notice.

Sometimes we think we're just changing jobs, relationships, seasons, or routines. But if we're willing to slow down, transition becomes an invitation to evaluate who we've become, what's no longer serving us, and where God is leading us next.

Self-evaluation isn't about criticizing yourself. It's about becoming honest with yourself.

Ask yourself:
✨ What have I learned about myself in this season?
✨ What am I still holding onto that I need to release?
✨ What habits, mindsets, or relationships are helping me grow... and which ones are keeping me stuck?

Sis, don't rush through this season just to get to the next one. There is wisdom in the waiting, purpose in the process, and growth in the reflection.

Your next chapter doesn't begin when everything changes around you. It begins when you choose to grow through what you're going through.

πŸ’› I'd love to hear from you. What's one thing this season has taught you about yourself? Share it in the comments so we can encourage one another.
