I didn't do it... my hormones did. π€·πΎββοΈβ¨
Sis...
There was a time when I thought something was wrong with me.
The symptoms seemed to come out of nowhere.
One day I felt like myself...
The next, I was anxious for no reason.
I couldn't remember simple things.
I was exhausted even after sleeping.
I was waking up in the middle of the night.
My patience was shorter.
My body was changing.
As a healthcare provider, I started looking for an explanation.
Was I stressed?
Was I working too much?
Was it burnout?
Was something medically wrong?
What I didn't realize was...
My hormones were changing.
No one had prepared me for perimenopause.
No one told me that it can begin years before menopause and that symptoms don't always show up the way we expect them to.
Looking back, the signs were there.
Today, I know I wasn't losing myself.
I was transitioning into a new season of life.
And that's exactly why I'm so passionate about having these conversations.
Because too many women are suffering in silence, blaming themselves for changes they never saw coming.
Over the next several weeks, I'm taking you with me as I share my personal journey through perimenopause, the symptoms, the lessons, the surprises, and what I've learned as both a woman and a nurse practitioner. My hope is that my story helps you better understand your own.
Sis...
