It is with deep honor and gratitude that we have been entrusted with the arrangements for U.S. Army Pfc. Claude A. Dewberry, finally brought home after more than 81 years.

A World War II prisoner of war, Pfc. Dewberry made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. After decades without answers, he has now been identified and will be laid to rest with the military honors he so rightfully deserves.

It is a privilege to help bring this American hero home and to stand alongside his family as they honor his life, service, and sacrifice. Welcome home, Pfc. Claude A. Dewberry.

Mr Kane, age 96, of Gretna, died Friday, July 17, 2026, at his home, after fifteen years of marriage.
Born May 11, 1930, in New Jersey, he was a member of St. Victoria Catholic Church, served forty years in the National Guard, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law of Clifton, NJ; two daughters of Oak Ridge and Oxford, NJ; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Victoria Catholic Church with military honors; the family will receive friends one hour prior. Memorials may be made to St. Victoria Catholic Church, P.O. Box 640, Hurt, VA 24563. Arrangements by Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
