Patrick Lee “Pat” Ryan of Alton, Illinois, age 78, passed away on May 19, 2026 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Born in Alton on December 6, 1947, he was the first of 15 children born to James B. and Guida M. (Gilbert) Ryan.
Pat graduated in 1965 from Carlinville High School, attended St. Louis University, and was a sergeant in the US Air Force. Before retirement he was employed at St. John’s Mercy Hospital, and later at Johnson Controls where he utilized his knowledge of engineering and electronics.
Pat was devoted to his family and will be remembered for his giving nature, wisdom, and wit. He possessed many skills and was always eager to lend a hand. He enjoyed large family gatherings and indulged everyone with treats that included the latest games and music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Robert Ryan and Paul Ryan, and 3 sisters: Marie (John) Schulz, Marjorie Poyner, and Patricia (Jerald) Tolle.
He is survived by 3 brothers and 6 sisters: John (Lek) Ryan of Austin, Texas, William (Margaret) Ryan of Bethalto, Thomas (Lisa) Ryan of Alton, Norma (Ronald) Klein of Alton, Mary (Mark) Weiss of Bethalto, Joan (Raymond) Darr of Alton, Sue McGibany Cowan of Alton, Janet (Kevin) Brooks of Eldred, and Judith (Robert) Maher of Godfrey. He is also survived by over 60 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Gent Funeral Home in Alton provided assistance with arrangements. Graveside services will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Father Jeff Holtman officiating.

Marilyn C. (Kelemen) Fisher, age 82, of Godfrey, Illinois peacefully passed away on May 27, 2026 with her loving husband of over 26 years, Larry Fisher, by her side, after a seven-month battle of being in and out of hospitals and rehabs with a dreaded blood disease. She was the loving daughter of the late Dr. Pete and Hermine (Farkas) Kelemen. Marilyn and Larry found the loves of their life in each other and married on May 13, 2006. She was a devoted wife, mom, Maw Maw, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her loving children from a previous marriage: Joseph Stewart III (Sheila) of Bonita Springs, FL; Scott DeClue-Stewart (Laura) of Wildwood, MO; Wendy Stewart (Rodger Wallis) of Arnold, MO; and Michael Fisher (Shonna Schrock) of Godfrey, IL. Marilyn was also a blessed grandmother “Maw Maw” to J.C., Finnegan, Lochlan, and Avery Stewart, Alexis and Thomas Fisher, Gavin and Drake Schrock, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was preceded in death by her brother, Peter S. Kelemen III. She is also survived by her close sister-in-law, Mary-Ann Kelemen, nephew, Stephen (Roxanne) Kelemen, niece, Kathryn (Brendan) Lehan, great nephew Peter Kelemen, and great niece, Peyten Kelemen. Marilyn never met a stranger and was very unforgettable person. Marilyn will be remembered for her warmth, her steady presence and her optimistic outlook on life. She followed the St. Louis Cardinals and when the Kansas City Chiefs played, she never missed a chance to dress in the team colors. She loved playing tennis and won several trophies. She enjoyed staying fit by walking several miles a day. She had the honor to be the President of the Republican Women’s Club of St. Louis for several years. A prayer service will begin at 12:45 p.m. followed by visitation until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home, 2409 State St., Alton, IL 62002. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 820 W. Homer M. Adams Pkwy., Godfrey, IL 62035. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynie Mae Cannon, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who peacefully left this world on May 27, 2026. Born in the quaint town of Braggadocio, Missouri, Lynie brought light and laughter into the lives of others.

Lynie was the cherished daughter of Charlie and Mary (Hatton) Ash, who preceded her in death along with her loving husband, Russell D. Cannon Sr., and her siblings, Jack Ash, Flora Cooley, Henry Ash, Evelyn Null, and Phyllis Hodge. They welcomed her into eternal rest with open arms.

Lynie married the love of her life, Russell D. Cannon Sr., on May 13, 1967, a union that grew into a family who will continue to honor her memory. She is survived by her devoted children: her daughter Constance and husband Oatis Hood of Puxico, MO; her son Kenneth Sharp of Cottage Hills, IL; and her son James and wife Renee Cannon of Clinton Township, MI, who each carry pieces of her spirit and love in their hearts. Her legacy is further carried by her grandchildren, her grandson Miles and wife Chasity Browning of Wappapello, MO; her granddaughter Amanda and husband Steven Sides, of Dexter, MO. Kaitlyn Cannon of Marrietta, OH and Madison Cannon of Clinton Township, MI and her great-grandchildren, Kerigan Jones of Bloomfield, MO and Izabella Browning of Wappapello, MO who brought immense joy to her later years. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

Lynie found solace and joy sitting on her porch and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, a reflection of the beauty she nurtured in her life. A woman of warmth and creativity, found joy in crafts, creating pieces that will be treasured by those fortunate enough to have received them. Lynie had a gentle spirit and a giving heart. She loved spending time with close family and friends.

Though we mourn her passing, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the love that will forever bind her family and friends. Lynie's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the simple joys of life.

Lynie Cannon will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on through her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and love. A life well-lived and a woman well-loved.

Cheryl Ann Kincade, 62, died at 7:57 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2026 at St. Louis University Hospital. Born November 14, 1963 in Colorado Springs, CO, she was the daughter of Alice Louise (Wells) Kincade of Alton and the late David Ebert Kincade. Cheryl was a kindergarten teacher for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis and was a member of the Greater Alton Church of Christ. Along with her mother she is survived by two brothers, David Kincade (Laura) of Orlando, FL and Jason Kincade (Karen) of Alton, one sister, Karen Smith (Paul) of Iowa. She loved spending time with her nephews, Zachery, Aaron, Daniel, Nicolas and Ian. Also surviving are three nieces, Isabella, Claire and Michelle, two great nieces, Orena and Lyra and a great nephew, David. She was preceded in death by her father and a great nephew, Robert. Rhonda Jane Ontis, 75, of East Alton, IL, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026 leaving behind a family and community who loved her deeply.
Rhonda was strong, fun, caring, loving, and truly one of a kind. She lived life with a spirit that inspired those around her — rarely stressing over the small things and always finding ways to enjoy each day. Her laughter, warmth, and unique personality made people feel comfortable, welcomed, and loved.
She had a special ability to bring joy to everyday moments and reminded others to appreciate life as it came. Whether spending time with family, making memories with friends, or simply enjoying the moment, she lived fully and authentically.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Hopper Jr. and Rose M. Puckett Hopper, as well as her brother, Richie Hopper.
She is survived by her loving husband, Terry; her daughter, Danielle; her brother, Mark; her nephew, Colin (Ashley), and their children, Issac, Olivia, and Owen; Terry’s sons, Christopher (Nichole) and Nicholas (Laura); Christopher and Nichole’s children, Paige and Caden; Nicholas and Laura’s children, Gavin and Jack; along with many family members and friends who will miss her greatly and cherish her memory forever.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love, strength, and spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Plans are currently being made for a celebration of life.

Allyn “Wayne” Hensley, 83, died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born August 24, 1942 in Alton, he was the son of Harold K. and Winona (Spurrier) Hensley. Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as owner/operator of Inzone Barber Shop. On May 15, 1965 he married the former Joan C. Hollenback in St. Louis, MO. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Bryan Hensley of Alton, Todd Hensley of Bloomington, IL, and Eric Hensley of Maryville, IL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Oliver and Owen Hensley, and two brothers, Joseph Hensley of Godfrey and Tony Hensley of Edwardsville. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Hensley. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. Burial will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 1308. Walter Ray (Dub) Moore, 94, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2026 when God chose to give him his wings on his birthday. He was born in Monroe, Arkansas on May 19, 1932 to the late Herbert and Ogal Moore.
He married Marilyn Voumard on November 11, 1955. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on July 10, 2024.
He served in the army. Dub was a great musician and played for years around the local area. He even got the chance to play at the Grand Ole Opry. After working in different automotive shops around the area, he then opened a machine shop in East Alton. He was so well liked by all his customers that some would bring him pies, watermelons, fruit baskets etc. because they appreciated his honest work ethic. He would even help those in need when they couldn’t afford to pay much. Dub loved to hunt, fish and play cards. He and Marilyn, their children and grandchildren spent many summers and hunting trips at their cabin in Hardin, IL. Later in life, Dub could be found outside tinkering in the yard with a tool or his garden or in his chair in the dining room watching a Cardinals baseball game or a Nascar race. Dub was the definition of classic and proved that through his 94 years here.
He is survived by 5 children. Ray (Lois) Moore, Pam (Duray) Conrad both of Indiana, Terry (Sherry) Moore of Bunker Hill, Kevin Moore (Jennifer) of Alton, Jimmy Moore (Dede) of Alton, Janice Moore-Peters of Alton. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren. Michael Moore (Keri), Timothy Moore, Nicole Moore (Shawn), Hannah Moore, Abby Moore (Marie), Brad Moore (Julie), Kimberly (Corey) Schetter, Bethany Hunter, Aprile Kerr, Brian (Lori) Moore and Greg (Alicia) Moore. 18 great grandchildren as well as his loving furry friend, his cat Coonie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, an infant daughter Melody Ann, his two brothers, Rudolph (Rudy) and Leon (Lonnie) Moore, two grandsons, Nathan and Daniel Wigginton and daughter-in-law Loretta (Zippy) Moore.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Tom Olney will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorial Donations can be made to the Faith Baptist Church in Godfrey.

Janet Ambrose Caselton Enoch, 72, died at 2:29 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026 at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born October 17, 1953 in Jerseyville, she was the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Sancamper) Ambrose. Janet was an executive secretary for Prudential Insurance Company and retired as an administrative assistant for S.I.U.E. On May 16, 2003 she married Paul E. Enoch in Edwardsville. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Marci Gietl of Houston, TX and Michelle Bodkin of Houston, TX and sister, Tammie Mattux of Rolla, MO. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Paulette Bosaw. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. Jerry Wayne Richards, 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away May 8, 2026 at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born December 10, 1947 in Wood River Township, he was the son of Samuel Lee and Laura (Shepherd) Richards. He served in the U.S. Army as a machine gunner in Vietnam, 1967-1970.
He married Shirley (Wolf) Dorsey in Alton, IL on March 23, 1972.
He was taught some carpentry, plumbing and all-around handyman skills, by his late father-in-law, Carl Wolf.
He worked as a Journeyman Tree Trimmer and eventually owner and operator of “Richards and Son Tree Service.” He taught our son, Michael, to climb and he also became a great tree trimmer who is still working today. Jerry loved spending time with his family. He loved anything chocolate. He also loved having the TV on, whether he was watching it or not and he was a jokester.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, Kristina Richards, son, Michael Richards (fiancé Terri Brant). Six grandchildren, Jake Richards, Alyssa Moore, Zachariah Moore, and Mariah Moore, Mike Richards II, Devin Green (wife, Morgan), five great grandchildren, Sophia (her sister) Hensley, Brooklyn, DJ, Avery and Elijah. A sister, Shirley Gonzales (husband, Felix) in Texas City, TX, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Henry Edward, William Lee, Donald Eugene, and sister, Mary Evelyn Williamson.
He is now with his Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was born November 29, 1971 in Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of the late Thomas Gonzalez Escobedo and Julia Hernandez Lopez. He worked for Amsted Rail in Granite City as a welder for 23 years. He is survived by his three children, Maria Gonzalez, Lucy Gonzalez, and Hunter Gonzalez. He is also survived by his siblings, Martin, Maria Sonia, Rita, and Maria Del Risario. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jose Felix, Marta, Jose Pantaleon, and Jose Luis. Cremation rites were accorded.
