Terra Luna & Its Raining Zen A positive, peaceful, loving approach to life! Wonderful, mystical items from around the world! Two Illinois locations: Zen in Alton & Terra Luna in Greenville
(684)

We COEXIST and support all spiritual paths. Our fun, quirky and unique shop located in Historical Mineral Springs Mall is designed to enhance your spiritual side. When you have a positive approach to life and its challenges, the set backs seem smaller. Our journey isn't always an easy one, nor can it be pleasant all the time. Sometimes carrying our favorite stone, lighting a candle, or smelling the aroma of incense or essential oils triggers a more positive time. This combined with prayer or meditation is usually what we need to get or keep our spiritual side on track. Life is too short to be anything but happy! Wishing you peace, love, light, and happiness!

Well, the Mineral Springs futon is getting a LOT more attention than we expected! So if you’re serious about taking home the original paranormal pullout, let’s make this a little competition.

We’re starting the bidding at $50. Post your bid in the comments! We will close the bidding in a few days.

Your winning bid will be a donation, and Donna and I will match it dollar for dollar to benefit Oasis Women's Center and Found A Hound Rescue. That means your $50 becomes $100 for two causes close to our hearts.

Own a piece of Mineral Springs history, help some good folks and deserving dogs, and give the spirits a change of scenery.

Let the bidding—and any unexplained activity—begin!

Almost all the furniture in the lobby has sold, but we forgot about the futon. So we pulled it up front, and it’s officially for sale!

Hardly sat on. Possibly hovered over.

The original paranormal pullout... Yep, this is the futon Zak Bagans took a nap on. If only furniture could talk. Oh, the stories this futon would share about things that went bump in the night during many a paranormal investigation at Mineral Springs.

Own a piece of Mineral Springs history, replete with ghastly, ghostly spirits, poltergeists, and assorted apparitions. Why leave the hauntings here when you can bring them into your own humble abode?

Perfect for overnight guests—and whatever follows them down the hallway.

Come give this futon a new home. If it follows you home on its own, we still expect a donation to Oasis Women’s Center and Found a Hound Rescue. You don’t get off that easy.

We brought a couple of flats of banded fluorite, aka rainbow fluorite, from our warehouse to It’s Raining Zen because you guys destroyed the stock during this retirement sale! That means about 60 new pieces you’ve never seen before are now available. So much fluorite, we dedicated an entire bookshelf to it!

We’ve still got a few hundred pieces tucked away in the warehouse, and there’s no reason to leave them there when you’re enjoying them this much!

These specimens are all from Hunan Province, China, with deep purples, shades of green, teal blue, and beautiful golden yellow. The yellow is a less common find in our selection, and those golden bands alongside the purple make for some spectacular combinations.

Those bands are called color zoning—a record of the crystal growing in stages. As conditions changed during growth, tiny differences in impurities and the crystal’s internal structure created different colors, leaving those distinct stripes and geometric patterns behind.

Hold a slice up to the light and the details really come alive. Some have fine, delicate stripes; others have bold ribbons of color or angular patterns tucked inside one another. Every piece gives you something different to explore.

Come check out the freshly stocked bookshelf and pick your favorite! Everything is 40% off during our retirement sale at It’s Raining Zen!

On this day in 1967, a hairy figure walked across a creek bed in Northern California, looked back at a camera, and started an argument that has outlived several marriages.

The Patterson–Gimlin film turns 59 today. You know the image: Bigfoot looking over one shoulder like somebody just asked him to help move a couch.

Affectionately called “Patty,” the figure became an icon of cryptozoology. Unknown primate? Person in a suit? Fifty-nine years later, we’ve got competing theories, endless analysis, and merchandise in every size.

After all these years at Mineral Springs, we know our crowd. Some of you have already examined the footprints. Some have communicated with him telepathically. And we know for a fact that on one investigation, we captured some EVPs from Patty up in Pearl’s room. We’re also pretty sure we smelled the Skunk Ape down in the pool one night. People blamed Taco Bell, but we know better.

The footage hasn’t scientifically established that Sasquatch exists, but we do respect a woodland resident who made one public appearance and declined every follow-up interview.

Celebrity recognition is tricky. Just ask Donna about running across Andy Griffith in Manteo. Is today a “please recognize me” day or a “how dare you recognize me” day? IYKYK.

Patty settled that problem. No appointments. No emails. Just walking away from people in the woods.

We’re beginning to understand the appeal.

All right, Zen family, we don’t talk a great deal about astrology. There are people who devote their lives to studying it, and we respect that expertise. Yeah, we can prepare and interpret natal and synnastry charts... that is kinda expected for shops like ours. But, we’re not hanging out the 'Astologer' shingle.

Yeah. But. Um. There are a few significant astrological events happening right now that we think are worth knowing about.

Venus is retrograde in Scorpio, and today she squares Pluto. Blah. Blah. Blah. Doesn’t make much sense, right? Well, in astrology, what this means is relationships, money, trust, and control are under the magnifying glass right now. Old feelings may deserve a second look. Old arguments probably don’t need a reunion tour.

Consider it an invitation to ask: Are we appreciated? Are we giving freely, or keeping score? Are we holding on because something matters—or because letting go is uncomfortable?

And get ready: Mercury retrograde begins October 24. Double-check the details, confirm the appointment, back up your files, and read that message twice before hitting send.

The planets can offer a little perspective, but we’re still responsible for our manners. Choose kindness, keep your boundaries, and remember that every thought does not require a public announcement.

Every day, we drive past fields of farms. Sometimes it takes almost an hour and a half to get to Alton, but that scenery is one of the reasons we love living where we do. This mama and her baby have become familiar faces we look for along the way.

They’re almost always at the fence. And you know they’re a package set because they’re both tagged 227.

Sometimes it feels like they’re expecting us. Other times, we wonder if they have something to tell us. This morning, I was making incredible time and had five minutes, so I stopped the truck, got out, and thanked them for always looking out for us on the trip.

A cow brings to mind nourishment, patience, and the comfort of being cared for. Add her calf, and it becomes a picture of trust—a little one discovering the world with mama close enough to make it feel safe.

We spend so much time looking for spiritual messages in extraordinary places. But there’s something sacred here, too: a mother grazing, her baby beside her, and enough peace for both to simply be.

We don’t know whether 227 and company had a message for us. But we came away with one anyway.

Slow down enough to notice the tenderness around you. Sometimes it’s been standing beside the road, waiting for you to stop.

It’s a marvelous night for a moondance here in the woods. The moon is shining through the trees, clouds are drifting by, and for a little while, there’s nowhere else we need to be.

After a long day, this is a pretty wonderful way to call it a night. Step outside if you can. Take a breath, look up, and let the world keep turning without your supervision for a few minutes.

Goodnight, Zen family. Sleep well. And if you feel like a little dance beneath the moon, we won’t tell.

All right, Zen family, here’s a reason to grab a blanket, go outside, and look UP!

The Orionid Meteor Shower peaks overnight October 21–22, when Earth passes through debris left behind by Halley’s Comet. A little comet dust, a little autumn magic, and a whole lot of sky!

Our pick is early Thursday morning, October 22, before dawn. The current forecast in the region looks promising around the peak, but check your local overnight cloud cover before setting that alarm. A bright moon will interfere this year, so aim for the last few dark hours after moonset.

How do you find it? Look for Orion’s three belt stars toward the southern sky before dawn. The meteors appear to come from near Orion, but they can streak across the whole sky. Find somewhere away from town lights, settle into a reclining chair facing southeast, and give your eyes about 30 minutes to adjust. Your own eyes are all the equipment you need. Put that phone down and give the universe a turn!

Sky watching is something we’re gonna do a LOT more of soon. More time at the cabin, more quiet mornings, and more reasons to remember how much wonder is still out there.

And who knows? Maybe the aliens will finally come retrieve Dave. Donna would appreciate a confirmed pickup window.

If you are like us and didn't grow up Hindu, then you might be wondering why Goddess Durga has all those arms and weapons. It is unlike most stories in western traditions.

So, here’s a lesson in what she carries.

The objects vary by tradition, but their symbolism offers plenty to consider. Her sword represents wisdom cutting through ignorance, while her trident speaks to balance and mastery over our nature. The discus represents righteousness, the bow and arrow direct energy toward a purpose, and the thunderbolt reflects unshakable determination.

Her mace symbolizes strength and protection, the spear truth and perseverance, and the conch spiritual awakening. Then there’s the lotus—a flower rising from muddy water, reminding us that difficult beginnings don’t have to decide what we become.

Our takeaway? Learn before you swing that sword. Be thoughtful about where you aim your energy. And if you’re the strongest person in the room, somebody ought to feel safer because you’re there.

We only have two hands, but we can still do a little good with them.

Cavansite is the kind of blue that makes you stop and take another look. Tiny crystals gather into vivid little rosettes that can seem almost too colorful to be natural.

They are natural. Cavansite is a calcium vanadium silicate, and some of its best-known specimens come from the Wagholi quarries near Pune in Maharashtra, India... all of ours are from there. Its name is built from its ingredients: calcium, vanadium, and silicate.

In modern crystal practice, cavansite is associated with intuition, inner understanding, and speaking your truth with clarity.

For us, that offers a useful reflection: listen closely, understand what you’re feeling, and choose your words with care.

Something this small can give you plenty to think about.
