TUESDAY TIPS!
How is your lighting??? Make sure you have adequate lighting in your home. If areas of your home are not well-lit, have additional lights installed or add lamps. Glow in the dark switches or sound activated lights can help as well. Place night lights in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and hallways. And, like always, let us bring some SUNSHINE into your life! MONDAY MEALS!
Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Tende

1 lb chicken tenders (approx. 10)
10 strips of bacon
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 to 1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 TBSP chili powder
Preheat oven or smoker to 350 degrees. In a bowl, mix together Italian seasoning, pepper, salt, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Sprinkle mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken tenders, covering them completely in spices.
Wrap a slice of bacon around each tender, tuck in the ends, or use tooth picks to secure.
Mix brown sugar and chili powder together, and sprinkle generously over the bacon-wrapped chicken on all sides.
Press onto the chicken so it doesn't come off.
Place chicken in oven, or smoker, and cook for about 30 minutes, or until chicken and bacon are done.

This is a hit at my house and it smells fantastic! Happy eating, Tanya

I left my campsite and hiked south for 3 miles. Then I turned east and hiked for 3 miles. Then I turned north and hiked for 3 miles, at which time I came upon a bear inside my tent eating my food! What color was the bear?

Enjoy the weather! Studies show that when people venture outside their heart rate and blood pressure improve. Take a moment to appreciate being outdoors. You could walk or sit. Meditate or read a book. The possibilities are endless!

Tuesday Tips!
Fall prevention:
If you have trouble with walking, balance, or if you have fallen in the past year, you should have a falls risk assessment.
Ask your provider if you would benefit from an exercise program to prevent falls.
You can purchase a special alarm that you wear as a bracelet or necklace. If you fall, you push a button and alert emergency services.
Don't rush to get the phone or door. Many people tend to do this.
Wear non-slip footwear and use prescribed canes or walkers at all times .
Make sure floors are clear of clutter.
Use rails and banisters.
Tape all rugs to the floor.

Monday Meals!
If you have a garden and want to use some of those veggies up, here is a recipe I created for my family. I call it Tanya's Ratatouille Casserole:
1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
3 cups cooked rice
2 zucchini, sliced
1 lg yellow onion (I use Vidalia)
30 oz (or 2 cans) diced tomatoes
1 lg can tomato sauce
Salt, pepper, garlic to taste
Mix all ingredients together. Bake at 350 degrees Farenheit for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Top with shredded cheese of your choice and bake until the cheese melts.
ENJOY! Tanya
