Does getting behind the wheel make you anxious? Driving anxiety can range from feeling nervous on highways or bridges to avoiding driving altogether. It may be connected to past experiences, anxiety disorders, health concerns, or simply feeling inexperienced behind the wheel.

If driving anxiety is getting in your way, start small. Practice shorter, familiar routes, create a calming environment in your car, and pull over somewhere safe if anxiety becomes too overwhelming to concentrate. If the fear continues to interfere with work, school, relationships, or everyday activities, a mental health professional can help you develop strategies to manage it.

Trauma bonding can make it difficult to recognize an unhealthy relationship or walk away from someone who is causing you harm. It develops when cycles of abuse or manipulation are followed by periods of affection, apologies, or calm, creating a powerful emotional attachment that can be difficult to break.

Signs may include making excuses for harmful behavior, feeling like you’re constantly walking on eggshells, losing confidence in yourself, becoming increasingly dependent on the other person, or holding onto brief moments of kindness despite an ongoing pattern of harm. Recognizing these patterns and reaching out to trusted friends, family members, or a mental health professional can be an important step toward safety and healing.

If you need support navigating a difficult relationship or processing its emotional impact, BSA Behavioral Health is here to listen. Call 806-350-7601 to schedule an appointment.

Ever feel like your mind is stuck replaying the same conversation, mistake, or worry over and over? That cycle is called rumination, and unlike healthy reflection, it can keep you focused on negative thoughts without helping you find a solution. Over time, frequent rumination can contribute to stress, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and shame.

To help break the cycle, try bringing your attention back to the present, doing an activity that engages your mind or body, challenging negative thoughts, or writing down what’s on your mind and setting it aside.

If repetitive negative thoughts are interfering with your daily life, you don’t have to work through them alone. Call BSA Behavioral Health at 806-350-7601 to learn more about how we can help.

Dependence and addiction are not the same, even though the terms are often used interchangeably. Dependence occurs when the body adapts to a substance and may experience withdrawal when it is stopped. Addiction involves compulsive substance use and difficulty stopping, even when it negatively affects your health or daily life. If substance use is becoming difficult to manage, support is available. Call 806-350-7601 to schedule an appointment.
