Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo is a major center for health care. TTUHSC is home to Texas Tech Physicians of Amarillo.

If you are looking for a new physician, we would love to help. Our departments include Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Geriatrics and Psychiatry. In an effort to provide across-the-board medical care, TTUHSC also offers the Breast Center of Excellence. In addition to providing excellent patient care to residents throughout the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma and New Mexico, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center proudly teaches the next generation of physicians and pharmacists. Our campus includes the School of Medicine, School of Health Professions and School of Pharmacy.

The TTUHSC-Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy Amarillo campus recently brought students, faculty, team members and their families together for a fall picnic. From good food and games to catching up with friends, everyone enjoyed time together and a chance to connect outside the classroom.

Did you know getting the flu shot during pregnancy is a safe and effective way to protect both you and your baby from serious illness? The vaccine helps prevent complications, supports a healthy pregnancy and even provides your newborn with early protection after birth.

Flu shots are available at the Amarillo Pharmaceutical Care Center (APCC), located inside Texas Tech Physicians.

We offer:
⚪Regular trivalent flu (Fluzone) for those 7 and older
⚪Egg-free flu (Flublok) for those 18 and older with egg or certain other allergies
⚪High-dose flu (Fluzone HD) for those 65 and older

Stop by for your immunization Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 5 p.m. APCC provides all vaccines and injections, excluding Provera.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing students in Amarillo put their knowledge to work at Día de la Salud – Te Lo Mereces, a free health fair focusing on women's health, hosted by Heal the City Free Clinic and Telemundo Amarillo.

The health fair brought the community together for health screenings and resources focused on breast cancer awareness, mental health, blood pressure, glucose checks and financial education. Our nursing students helped make an impact by providing blood pressure screenings and sharing educational pamphlets they created to help community members stay informed and take charge of their health. They even joined in on the Zumba fun!

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Amarillo was proud to support the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation at its Mahjong for Mammograms event, raising funds to help provide mammograms for women in the community who may not otherwise be able to afford one.

Together, we’re dedicated to making a difference and helping improve access to lifesaving breast cancer screenings across the Texas Panhandle.

CMN Amarillo announced Tuesday (Oct. 13) a $1 million philanthropic gift to support the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Pediatric Fund for Excellence in Amarillo.

Brian Weis, M.D., regional dean of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, and Shannon Herrick, M.D., regional chair of pediatrics, accepted the gift from Children’s Miracle Network Board Member Lindsey Murphy.

The investment will help expand access to pediatric specialty services, address critical gaps in care and support the growing health needs of children and families across the Texas Panhandle.

The TTUHSC-Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy welcomed its newest cohort of Pioneer Pathway students to the Amarillo campus for a special meet-and-greet last week. Students had the opportunity to connect with faculty, meet team members and build relationships with other students as they begin their journeys toward becoming pharmacists.

The Pioneer Pathway offers a unique approach to pharmacy education, combining online learning with immersive, hands-on experiences to help students prepare for a career in pharmacy. The program offers a flexible, accessible and affordable option for aspiring pharmacists.

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry in Amarillo offers medical students and residents clinical experiences in treating children to geriatric patients with varying diagnoses of psychiatric conditions. Students also have exposure to cutting-edge technologies, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and the largest telemedicine psychiatry system in the United States.
