Recognizing Stroke, FAST
This month we focus on National Stroke Awareness, and the acronym – FAST. Prevention is key to suffering a stroke, and the acronym, FAST is important for you and your loved ones to know.

F- Face/Does the face droop on one side when trying to smile?
A – Arm/ After raising both arms, does one of the arms drift downward?
S – Speech/is speech slurred or strange?
T- Time/ If any or all of the above are observed, call 911 immediately.

Our focus is always to be compassionate with our many patients. With that said, education is part of that compassion so we may assist even before a serious health condition can change a life forever.

*Honoring our Heroes*
As we approach Memorial Day, we take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Among our clients, we have the privilege of caring for many veterans who have selflessly served our country.

Today, we honor your service, your courage, and your dedication to our nation's freedom. We recognize the sacrifices you've made, the challenges you've faced, and the memories you carry with you every day.

We are humbled by your strength and resilience. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you, and to support your well-being. We are proud to care for heroes like you, who have given so much to our country. On Memorial Day, we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. We honor their memory, and we acknowledge the grief and loss that many of you have experienced.

To our veteran clients, we want you to know that we see you, we appreciate you, and we are here for you. We will continue to provide you with the highest quality care, compassion, and respect. You are not alone, and we will always strive to support you.
Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sacrifice. And thank you for being an inspiration to us all.

Falls are the leading cause of injury and accidental death in adults over the age of 65 years. New or unfamiliar surroundings, improper footwear, cumbersome furniture arrangements and distractions all can cause a person to accidentally stumble and fall, causing serious injury and even death.

The American Nurses Association celebrates National Nurses Week each May. In recent years, the entire month has been dedicated to appreciation of this much-needed career. Madison Family Companies believe nurses should be recognized not just this month, but all the year through. Our nurses make a difference every day to our many patients and their families. They embody the spirit of compassion and care in every healthcare setting. We hope you will join with us in recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses locally and nationwide. Whether you are a health care professional, a patient, or simply someone who appreciates a nurse’s dedication, this is your chance to express gratitude and support their capability and fortitude.

Within Madison Family Companies, we deeply thank all our nurses for their compassion, comfort and care they provide to all our patients every day.

Remember, with Compassion in your home, you are never alone.
