⏰ If you were pursuing licensure before May 1, 2024, your grandfathering is coming to an end! You will either need to apply for licensure before January 1, 2027 or be prepared to transition to our current licensing laws found in Utah code 58–60. Also, just because you were grandfathered into the old licensing laws does not mean you’re grandfathered into the old rules. You will likely need CEs on top of the required two hours of su***de prevention. We recommend emailing DOPL to determine how many prorated hours of CEs you need.

The Summit is back for Utah’s premier gathering of mental health professionals. On Friday and Saturday, August 28-29, 2026 (just in time for licensing renewal!), clinicians from across disciplines will come together at the Davis Conference Center in Layton for two days of exceptional training, meaningful networking, and collaboration.

Featuring keynote presenter, Anna Lieber, LCMHC, NCC, CCMHC, su***de prevention, ethics offerings, supervision content, specialty breakouts, and conversations that shape the future of our profession, the Summit is a rare opportunity to connect with colleagues who share a common commitment to improving mental health care in Utah.

Since this event only takes places every two years, now is the time to secure your seat! Learn more and register at the link in the comments!

*Please note that this is in place of our regular UAMFT, UMHCA, and NASW-UT Fall Conferences

🚨 Advocacy Update for MFT Students & Clinicians

A federal court has temporarily blocked a rule that would have significantly reduced federal student loan funding for Marriage & Family Therapy graduate students.

This change could have limited access to training and impacted the future mental health workforce.

Thanks to advocacy efforts led by AAMFT and partner organizations, this ruling protects access to funding for now.

The case is still ONGOING, and updates will continue as developments unfold.

📣 This is a powerful reminder: advocacy matters and it directly shapes our profession.
