Every cancer journey is different, and our team ensures no one navigates it alone.

Recently, the Mary Greeley Foundation recognized Mary Texeira and Dr. Merchant’s team through our Beyond Expectations- Grateful Patient and Family Program. After receiving care at the William R. Bliss Cancer Center, patient Dixie Walters shared her gratitude for the support, guidance, and compassion she experienced along the way.

“The work and care of Mary Texeira was wonderful,” Dixie wrote. “She helped me navigate it all.”

Stories like Dixie’s are a reminder that exceptional care extends far beyond treatment alone. Thank you to Mary, Dr. Merchant’s team, and all those who make a difference for patients and families every day.

In May, we had the honor of celebrating our Innovation and Excellence Award winners, nominees, and the colleagues who took the time to recognize them.

Fifty-nine nominations were submitted - each one highlighting someone who goes above and beyond not because they have to, but because they care deeply about the impact they make.

Our award winners were:
Service Award: Matthew Steffan
Nursing Award: Sara Ohrtman
Leadership Award: Whitney Garwood
Medical Practice Recipient: Dr. Joshua McCaughey

When we read through this year’s nominations, something stood out. Not one big moment, but hundreds of small ones.

Story after story highlighted the small moments that made a big difference, moments of going above and beyond, leading with compassion, collaborating with purpose, and staying committed to safety and to one another.
