Hi everyone- settling into Las Vegas. It has been interesting. I have not been able to discuss or disclose my Animal Reiki work in my immediate neighborhood. I am in a condominium complex which, unbeknown to me at the time of purchase, is ninety nine percent African American or non-white ethnicity.
I have been told there are people in the vicinity who practice VooDoo and similar religious beliefs. To try to explain Reiki to them when I have had trouble with people of Catholic and Christian backgrounds believing in it is something I don't feel comfortable taking on. So, I am not sure how this is going to work just yet. I will need to do some research and see where there are parallels or intersections I can use.
For instance, intention and prayer are the same thing. Both are setting goals. God laid on hands to heal. Man/woman is made in the image of God and as such should have the same abilities.
Also, people in this part of the country eat parts of animals people where I came from wouldn't touch. So Animal attitudes are slightly different as well. I need to adjust and this will take a little time and understanding on my part. I understood in my head before but wasn't around it, now I am around it so my heart has to catch up.
