The Beauty of Trying
Bounce for Bread didn’t unfold the way we hoped. We dreamed big, worked hard and ultimately made the difficult decision to cancel.
Of course, we’re disappointed. But trying something new always carries the possibility that it won’t work. That doesn’t make the effort a failure. It makes it a lesson.
We learned what strong collaboration requires, how much time an event of this size needs and what we would do differently next time. Most importantly, we were reminded that courage isn’t found only in succeeding, it’s found in being willing to try, adjust and begin again.
We would rather be a community that dreams boldly and occasionally falls short than one that never risks trying at all. 🧡
AN UPDATE ON BOUNCE FOR BREAD
After a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Bounce for Bread event.
We’re disappointed because we loved the idea of bringing our community together in a big, joyful, very Motivate.® way to support the important work of Our Neighbors’ Table.
But here’s the part that matters most:
The impact doesn’t stop because the event does.
All contributions raised through Bounce for Bread thus far will continue to support the mission of Our Neighbors’ Table and the work they do to help provide food security for our neighbors.
To every person who donated, formed a team, signed up to bounce, shared the event or supported the idea….thank you.🧡
Specifically, a huge thank you to the sponsors who jumped up and said yes:
Our Bread Basket Sponsors: Pomodori, Newburyport Dental Associates, Marker 34, Port U Vida, TruNorth Bank, Twin Lanterns Dairy Bar, and Amesbury Chevrolet.
Our Bread Bowl Sponsors: ProForm Physical Therapy, Market Square Jewlers
Our Rising Dough Sponsor: Slay the Essay
Sometimes an event doesn’t unfold exactly as we envisioned. But generosity is never wasted, and neither is the good that comes from a community willing to show up for its neighbors.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who did. 🧡
