Newburyport Regional Household Hazardous Waste Day

The City of Newburyport & Amesbury, and the Towns of Groveland, Newbury, and West Newbury, will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 8 AM–12 PM, rain or shine, at the DPS lot (16A Perry Way).

Tradebe Environmental Services will collect hazardous items such as oil-based paint (no latex), varnish, pesticides, pool chemicals, gasoline, and other hazardous household waste.
Fees for Residents:
$30 for up to 3 gal/lbs
$45 for up to 10 gal/lbs
$80 for up to 25 gal/lbs

Fees are based on container size, not contents. Cash or check only.

Not Accepted: Latex paint, ammo, asbestos, medical/biological waste, fire extinguishers, radioactive material, and commercial waste.

Safety Tips: Keep items in original containers with lids tight; place upright in boxes; do not mix chemicals.

A paper shredding truck (Shred Source) will also be on site:
1st box is free; $5 per additional box

We are currently collecting baby item donations to be distributed at our upcoming Community Baby Shower on 9/26/26. If you have baby items that deserve a second home, we would love your support!

We Are Happily Accepting:

• Gently used clothing, crib sheets, blankets & shoes (Newborn - 2T)

• Board books & picture books

• New/unopened diapers, wipes & formula

• Gently used toys (must be clean with all parts present)
