There's a reason we focus so much on myofunctional speech therapy at Speak Easy. Sometimes the signs your child needs help aren't very obvious, but when you take a little one to the dentist and they find a tongue tie or myofunctional needs, that's when WE come in! It can be a bit harder to find myofunctional therapist, but you're in luck - this is something we specialize in :)

Gestalt language development highlights how some children learn language in meaningful chunks before breaking them down into individual words.

Modeling functional phrases the child can use right away (e.g., “Let’s go!”, “I need help,” “All done”) rather than drilling isolated words.

Expanding or slightly modifying a child’s scripts instead of correcting them (e.g., child says “Let’s go!” → adult models “Let’s go outside!”)

As parents, you have an important role in helping your child's communication skills. Speech and social skills do not have to be hard, and can be incorporated in your child's daily routine.

✅ During meals: Have your child name foods that contain their sound (e.g., "soup," "sandwich," or "banana").
✅ While reading together: Pause and encourage your child to repeat words with their target sound.
✅ Car rides: Play "I Spy" and look for objects that begin with the sound they're working on.
✅ Visual practice: Have your child watch their mouth movements in a tool like mirror while practicing sounds to increase awareness and accuracy.

⭐ Encourage your child to be confident in their speech and social skills!
