It is both a as well as a current tie-in theme to DMC's 2026 anniversary, New Beginnings - DMC did not wait until the 'season' - rather has spent much of this year doing what we can as an IL to maintain our outreach and advocacy efforts to become part of any and all change, creating new beginnings wherever we can.

BreeAnna Adner, DMC's Systems Change Advocate represented DMC at the 2nd annual California Disability Leadership Alliance (CDLA) "DAY OF ACTION" through a DONetwork Statewide Meeting earlier this year ahead of summer. It was a Rally for Our Rights opportunity on the Capitol West Steps in Sacramento, California.

This key opportunity was a chance to unite with otehr disability advocates for IHSS and Medi-Cal.

Since its initial formation in 2024 - The Alliance is a group of disability and Deaf-led organizations working together to build cross-disability collaboration, solidarity, and political power to influence and improve policies for people with disabilities in California.

The Day of Action was created by The Alliance in recognition that now more than ever, it’s crucial the disability community join together in community and solidarity.

By the way ------- DMC's Systems Change is actively taking referrals.

* Expand your advocacy understanding from different lenses of systems change, individual and self-advocacy.

*Learn how your story can build opportunity for advocacy.

* Connect and share to create support among your own peers.

*Grow your advocacy journey in our disability community to the next level.

*Learn how to create change.

* Join forces in advocating to pave the way for human rights, and equal opportunity.

10/07/2026

As the fall season gets underway, people with disabilities and older adults struggle trying to remember and do all there is to do during the holiday season, from taking medication, doing everyday tasks and taking care of themselves. It can be a lonely time, too - with emotions hindering independence.

What we need is compassion, support and assistance that only a caregiver can provide in caregiving, and even a bit of holiday cheer in comfort and conversation.

When we're trying to navigate our lives after an abrupt change or through aging - it can be challenging for anyone. If you are an older adult or a person with disabilities scheduling in your everyday life choices are easier if one has support, care, and proper guidance to have a life that keeps you thriving.

Quality of life is important and can be made possible with the help of a patient, caring and dedicated caregiver. This is why Caregivers WHO CARE - matter to DMC.

Is that you? DMC is actively recruiting caregivers.

You can make a difference in the life of an individual today! Dignity, respect, demonstrating support and helpfulness. If you possess these qualities you sound like you might be a perfect candidate to be a caregiver.

In-home support is key to have independence, access, and simple needs met through care giving, housekeeping or daily activities.

DMC cares about care giving! We are actively recruiting now for caregivers. Do you know someone who is looking to be a caregiver or has been one and is looking for work?

If you, or someone you know is interested in making a huge difference for Orange County's fast-growing community in need, please check out our flyers in three languages and learn more:
