I’ve almost reached the end of my first semester at APU 🎉 For my capstone project in Communications for Health Professionals I had a few options to choose from and selected social media since that felt natural for me, given my experience in making content. I basically did the entire project yesterday in 12 hours. 😮💨 I put together a 12 minute presentation, wrote my talking points, and made this post’s content. Maybe that doesn’t sound like a lot but I say but trust me it was! For my capstone I had to select a health concern and find a way to communicate that issue with the public. The issue I chose was how social media (specifically Instagram) can be both harmful and helpful in regard to mental health. What I’m launching here is a simple guide on how to know if a creator is sharing evidence based advice or just shouting down the echo chamber or misinformation and product sales.
