We are not only focused on new sources of clean drinking water, but also repair and rehabilitation of existing wells. Up to half of the water wells in South Sudan are non-functional at any given time. The Alaska Team can do something about that. Our agriculture program has completed a seed distribution in Paguir, South Sudan. In 2-3 months farmers will be harvesting onions, tomatoes, Sukuma, watermelons, okra, pumpkin, carrots, and eggplant. Fighting food insecurity through farming. Want to help? Visit www.ahpss.org/donate

Our work in South Sudan is carried out by a gifted and enthusiastic team of mostly South Sudanese. When we get together on October 15th, at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, we will raise money so that the team in South Sudan can continue the good work. It sometimes takes extraordinary effort just to get the drill rig and supplies to remote parts of the Sudd in South Sudan. The people of Petit and our own team cleared the way, by hand, to allow us to move tons of material for the water wells. Happy to report we achieved success and drilled two wells for the people of Petit.
