South Central Alabama Mental Health Center We are dedicated to improving lives in a professional and caring manner. We are public organization incorporated for a public service to serve a public need.

Mental Illness services are offered to children through the geriatric years and include: Rehabilitative Day Programs; Intensive Day Programs; Supportive Housing; Case Management (Adult and Children); Small Capacity Group Home; Children's and Adult In-Home Services; Juvenile Court Liaison; Probate Court; Outpatient Therapy; Hospital Evaluations; Geriatric Services; Psychiatric Services; Crisis Int

ervention; Testing; Med Monitoring; and Information and Referral. Evaluations and assessments are provided for the Developmental Disability population in addition to Case Management. Programs offered by the Substance Abuse Division include: Crisis Residential, Intensive Outpatient, and Court Referral. Most non-profit organizations are privately incorporated, e.g. churches. We are a non-profit organization. SCAMHC is incorporated for charitable and beneficial purposes without the intent of making profits to be distributed to its owners or shareholders. We are a corporation. While we are a public, beneficial agency; we are none-the-less corporate entity. Whe have a corporate legal status and we operate as a business. We are a local organization . We are owned and operated by a locally appointed Board of Directors. We belong to the community of South Central Alabama. WE ARE NOT A STATE AGENCY.
