Twenty-five years since September 11.

Today we're thinking about a distinction that's easy to miss: a warm welcome home is not the same as an easy one.

This article looks at what changed, and what didn't, for the generation who served after 9/11. No one was drafted this time, and they came home to a country proud of them. But that pride was never proof that the return itself was easy.

At HMR, we sit with veterans who carry all of this, often decades after their service ended. Being thanked isn't the same as being known.

Happy 110th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps Reserve!

On August 29, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson created the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve alongside the creation of the U.S. Navy Reserve.

The reserve started with just 35 members and today has expanded to roughly 40,000 Marine Corps Reservists.

Happy 100th Birthday to Mr. Brown!

We want to say a big Happy Birthday to Mr. Theodore Brown!

Yesterday, he turned 100 years old. What a milestone!

Mr. Brown served in the Army during World War II and we are so honored for him to be with us at Veteran Village.

Happy 100th and thank you for your service!
