Who says Halloween costumes are just for kids? 🎃👻😂

We've been having a little fun with AI, giving some of our 1019 Residents a chance to see themselves in some pretty hilarious Halloween costumes.

From spooky to silly, these costume creations have us laughing and wondering if we've just found a few ideas for the real thing!

The costumes may be AI-generated, but the personalities behind them are 100% real.

Our Residents often are the ones taking care of us. 💚

When Erika, one of our 1019 Vermillion Place team members, was blessed with a new home, Resident Melanie Hendricks had an idea for a housewarming gift - a recipe book filled with favorites from the people Erika spends her days with!

Residents and team members came together to share their favorite recipes, creating a collection of family traditions, memories and a little taste of home for Erika's new kitchen. 📖🍽️

The relationships our team members build with Residents goes both ways. Our Residents care about the people who care for them. They celebrate their milestones, cheer them on and want to be part of the important moments in their lives, too.

And thanks to Melanie's thoughtful idea, Erika now has a housewarming gift that no store could ever sell.

October 19 has always been a special day for James and Heather.

It’s the day they said “I do,” and years later, that date inspired the name 1019 Senior Living.

What started with a shared life together grew into a shared vision for senior living. As the founders of 1019 Senior Living, James and Heather wanted to create communities where people are seen as individuals and where the moments shared with residents matter most.

Meet Pepperoni! 🦙💚

This handsome llama recently stopped by 1019 River Crossing and made himself right at home! Even Heather couldn't resist getting in on the fun. 😂

But there's an even better story behind this visit.

Pepperoni's owner, Kristen Gregory, generously donates her time and brings her animals into senior living communities through Almosta Farm in Borden, Indiana.

We love when people from the communities around us walk through our doors and share something special with our Residents. New faces, unexpected visitors, a little laughter and connections that reach beyond our walls are all part of what makes senior living feel like home.

And people like Kristen help make those moments possible.

Big dreams. Long hours. Hard work. And now, a nursing degree! 🎓🩺💚

We have something pretty special to celebrate at 1019!

Ty, one of our team members 1019 Vermillion Place, has graduated from her nursing program on her journey to becoming an LPN!

Anyone who has worked while pursuing an education knows the commitment it takes. The studying, the sacrifices, the long days and the determination to keep going when things get tough.

And Ty did it!

Ty, we are incredibly proud of you! Thank you for showing us what determination looks like. We can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you.

She didn't need someone to teach her how to make pumpkin pie. She needed someone to ask her to show them. 🥧💚

Meet Diana from 1019 Vermillion Place . Before moving into senior living, she owned her own catering business. She knows her way around a kitchen, has recipes she's perfected over the years and plenty of experience to share.

So when it came time to make pumpkin pies for fall, our team didn't just invite Diana to participate. They invited her to lead the way.

This was her recipe, her knowledge, her tips and tricks. And just look at that smile!

At 1019 Senior Living, we believe deeply that moving into senior living doesn't mean leaving behind the things that made you who you are. Our Residents have spent lifetimes building skills, developing talents and doing things they love.

Our job is simply to make room for them to keep doing those things. And in Diana's case, we get homemade pumpkin pie out of the deal! 🎃
