Carl Huffman, 84, passed away on August 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born February 19, 1942, Carl lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, friendship, and a willingness to lend a helping hand. He proudly served for four years in the National Guard and later retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of dedicated service.

Carl was a man who loved to work with his hands. A talented woodworker and an all-around handyman, he enjoyed building things, fixing things, and finding a way to make just about anything work. Whether he was working on a project of his own or helping someone else, Carl was always willing to lend his skills and his time. Throughout his life, he also gave back to others through volunteer work.

Anyone who knew Carl knew about his love for his vehicles—especially his red trucks. He took pride in the things he owned and the things he built, but it was the people in his life who mattered most. Carl had many friends and was loved by many. He will be remembered for his helpful nature, his hardworking hands, and the countless ways he showed his care for others.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Huffman and Anne Mills, and his brothers, Gary Dean Huffman Sr. and Steve Huffman.

He is survived by his brother, John (Sheilia) Huffman, and his sister, Sandy Huffman.

Larry Hutton, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 20, at Community Hospital after a short illness. He was born on March 30, 1949, in Anderson, IN, to the late Charles (Rocky) Hutton and Alyce (McNeal) Hutton. On August 29, 1971, he married Lee Ann Eltzroth of Kokomo, who survives.

Larry graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1967. Larry is an Air Force veteran. He worked as a Heating & Air Conditioning Technician his entire life for House of Service, Gene Sylvester HVAC, and Aspire Indiana Health for the past 14 years.

Larry will be remembered for his marble collection. Larry was an avid euchre player and played regularly at the American Legions in Anderson and Cicero. He also frequented Hoosier Park in Anderson.

Larry is survived by his wife, Lee Ann; brother, George; and is predeceased by brother Neil and sister Joanna Combs (Ron). Larry is survived by his children, Michelle Fosnot (George), Bill Hutton (Julie), and Laura Hutton (Meagan); seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on September 2, 2026, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, at the American Legion Post 127, 4118 Columbus Avenue, Anderson, IN 46013.

Rebecca Lynn Falk, 76, of Pendleton, passed away on August 19, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson. She was born on January 14, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana, to her parents, Jaqueline and Walter Spall.

Rebecca graduated High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1968, and attended college following graduation.

She worked as a cashier at a local supermarket.

She was a member of Garden Club, Pendleton Chicks (The Red Hats) and Pendleton Christian Church. She enjoyed drawing, music, animals and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rebecca is survived by her children, Heather (Brett) Maseman and Brian (Barbara) Smith; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carmella King; brother, Lee (Shirley) Spall; many cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Larry King.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson, Indiana, 46013.

A memorial service will follow visitation on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial of her cremated remains will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kay Frances Formulak, of Anderson, passed away on August 13, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson. She was born on May 12, 1935, in Oak Hill, West Virginia, to her parents, Effie and John Cobb.

Kay graduated from Collins High School in 1954, and earned an associate's degree from Concord College.

Following graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. and worked at the Library of Congress for Senator Kefauver. In D.C. she met her husband, Bill Formulak, whom she married on June 20, 1957, and together they had four children. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1965 and ultimately settled in Anderson in 1974. Kay was a homemaker who cherished the time she spent caring for her husband and four children. She worked for Delco Remy after the children left for college.

Kay is survived by her three children, Brian (Lissa) Formulak, Mark (Laura "Jenny") Formulak and Pamela (Rick) Mackey; granddaughters, Lauren (Austin) Richardson, Christina (Kyle) Long and Kristin Formulak; grandson, John (Makenzie) Formulak; great-granddaughters, Nora Richardson, Brooke Formulak and Ellen Formulak and great-grandson, Weston Richardson; brother, Ronnie (Cathy) Cobb; sisters, Barbara Sargent and Karen Price.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred "Bill" Formulak; daughter, Loriann Formulak; parents, Effie and John Cobb; sister, Betty Blizzard and brothers, Jimmy Cobb, Jack Cobb and Mike Cobb.

Earl Edward Hexamer, 89, of Alexandria, passed away on August 15, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1936, in Anderson to George and Katherine Hexamer, Sr.

He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1957 and in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962 when he was honorably discharged. He worked as a utility man at General Motors, and he retired from there in the mid 1980s.

He is survived by his brother, Daniel (Sandy) Hexamer; sister-in-law, Maureen Hexamer; brother-in-law, Pat Matney, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Gloria Matney, George Hexamer Jr, Jeanine Wood, Bill Hexamer, Mike Hexamer, and Doug Hexamer.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery in Anderson per Earl's request.

Roberta “Bertie” S. Carothers, 99, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on August 11, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson, just three months shy of her 100th birthday. Bertie was born November 12, 1926, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to Edward and Dorothy Schmoyer. She grew up in Williamsport, where she attended the Lutheran church throughout her childhood. After graduating from high school, she attended Lycoming College, where she met the man who would become her husband, Frank S. Carothers. The two were married in the Lutheran church and began a marriage that would span many decades. After their marriage, Bertie and Frank lived in State College, Pennsylvania, while Frank attended Penn State University. Following his graduation, they made their home in Ohio before eventually moving to Anderson, Indiana, where Frank worked for General Motors. Together they built a life centered around family, home, travel, and the many interests they shared. Bertie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Brownie leader and an accomplished seamstress who loved to sew, often working on projects late into the night. Her creativity extended to needlework, including many pictures of animals as well as decorative stitching on some of the clothing she made. She also enjoyed working with plastic canvas and took on some wonderfully ambitious projects, including a large, multi-story Barbie townhouse and even a Barbie RV. She and Frank...

Alicia Kay Pitman, 78, of Pendleton, passed away on August 9, 2026. She was born November 8, 1947, in Salem, Indiana.
Alicia graduated from Ball State University in 1969 (B.S.), Saint Francis College in 1973 (M.S.), and Indiana State University in 1990 (Ph.D. in Elementary Education). She was a teacher in Indiana for nearly twenty years. As an Assistant Professor at Eastern Illinois University from 1989 to 1991, she authored numerous academic research publications. She then stayed home to raise her children for several years. In 1997, she joined the Pendleton Community Library as Assistant Director and Children’s Librarian. After retiring, she continued her volunteer work at the library and her church for years after. Throughout her career, she was an active member of numerous professional and charitable organizations, and both coordinated and presented for countless community, educational, and professional events.
She will be greatly missed, especially by her grandchildren, who loved their visits to Grandma, playing games, making crafts, and reading books together.
Alicia is survived by her children, Sarah (Wunji) Pitman and Alexander Pitman; grandchildren, Ellen and Daphne Lau; sisters, Connie (Michael) Pruitt, and Jana (Maurice) Dupreez. Alicia was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Pitman; parents, William and Mary Alice Nale; and brother, William Nale, Jr.
