We have several team members in our Upstate offices who are offering Hurricane Relief through Samaritan's Purse at Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone, NC. Currently, Alliance Bible Fellowship has plenty of water, food and supplies to distribute. They are looking ahead and asking people to bring clothing and blankets for upcoming cold weather.

If you have extra blankets and/or jackets of any size that you would like to donate, we would love to collect those at our Anderson and Greenville offices! Our team members will be traveling to Boone this Friday, October 11th (donations must be in by 10/10!).

Alliance Supply Bank is well-stocked with water, food, and supplies. If you or a neighbor are without food, water, or power, please come get what you need.

We are currently at capacity. We are focusing our efforts on getting supplies out into remote locations. If you haven’t already made arrangements with Alliance, please find a church, fire department, or community center in an affected area to deliver supplies.

TCT Upstate families! Our therapists will be in touch with you to confirm appointments this week! We are planning to be open on Monday (we have power in Anderson and Greenville); however, we understand that some families and therapists may not be able to travel due to the storm damage. Please stay safe and we will offer makeup sessions as conditions improve.

We're all about bugs and frogs in Speech Therapy today! Hopping Frogs is a fun way to work on different speech sounds like /k/, /g/ and /f/ in words, phrases and sentences.

Grading force is the ability to adjust how much pressure to place on an object or person based on feedback from the environment. As children develop this skill, it's common to have difficulty gauging how hard or quick to move. This leads to crashing block towers, slamming doors, and knocking over their friends. Learning to adjust the force of movement through play is a great way to make motor skill acquisition fun! This friend is practicing grading force, moving slow and steady, to balance pom poms on the caterpillar hands.

OT Activity Alert! Yoga is a great activity to build core strength, practice motor planning skills, and simply have fun moving like an animal. Cosmic Kids yoga is a fun safe YouTube channel where kids and adults can enjoy traveling through adventures with various yoga poses.

Ms. Adie with our Anderson team is working with her TCT friend in occupational therapy. We love adding structure to playtime through fun obstacle courses in the gym!

Sometimes things get a little messy in OT! Miss Juliana and this TCT friend are targeting tactile defensiveness & sensory processing through tolerating the hands being messy with paint!

We're having fun with our Bug Theme! This friend is reading a book about the butterfly life cycle. Books are a fantastic way to work on fine motor control and attention to task. We also worked on visual scanning to find hidden butterflies.

Spring is in the air! Have a picky eater at home? We have an idea for you! Help your toddler plant a garden and allow them to help you take care of the growing vegetables! Not only do gardens provide great sensory experiences, but they also give children a sense of purpose as they water and tend to the plants! Your toddler might be more inclined to try a vegetable that they have come to know and love in their own garden!

OT Month shout out to Ms. Kenna!
Nothing can burst our bubble when they're having this much fun in therapy! This TCT friend is working on joint attention while also engaging his vestibular system and core strength while sitting on the platform swing.

It's OT Month! Ms. Jenny and her TCT friend are hard at work in Occupational Therapy! Painting helps kids learn visual expression, spatial intelligence, and color recognition. It is a great way to work on tactile defensiveness (decreased or poor tolerance to certain clothing, textures, food sensitivities or closeness of other) and develop their creativity and fine/gross motor skills. Way to go!
