Many of the people in our community already know and support what we do, but as our page continues to grow, we wanted to take a moment to reintroduce what music therapy actually is — and why advocacy for this profession matters 🎶

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions by a board-certified music therapist to support individualized goals related to emotional wellness, communication, social connection, cognitive functioning, motor skills, self-expression, and more. It is an intentional therapeutic process designed to meet people where they are and support meaningful growth, connection, and wellbeing.

Advocating for music therapy means helping more people understand the value of creative and accessible therapeutic support. It means increasing awareness, reducing misconceptions, and helping individuals and families discover resources they may not have known were available to them.

We are grateful to continue sharing this work with our community and to keep creating spaces where people can feel supported, empowered, connected, and heard through music 💛

We’re excited to celebrate Stephanie as she completes her coaching training through Lark's Song 🎉

Lark’s Song is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to courageously create a fulfilled and flourishing world through professional coach training, wellbeing education, and culture care. Their work empowers professionals and organizations to lead with greater purpose, sustainability, and compassion.

Stephanie will be using her Lark’s Song Certified Coach credential in her role as Director of Professional Development, helping support both the clinical growth and personal development of our team. Having leadership that values both professional skills and overall wellbeing helps create a more sustainable, supported, and impactful environment for music therapists and the communities we serve 💛🎶

We’re grateful for opportunities to continue learning, growing, and investing in our staff — and thankful for organizations like Lark's Song that are helping cultivate healthier and more flourishing communities.
