Birth Story

💕 Sophie & Samuel’s

Sophie had such a great birth! This was her second baby with WBA, and what a joy it was to walk alongside this sweet family once again!

Having done this before, Sophie knew a little more about what to expect. And with her easygoing nature, we always enjoyed our appointments together. She has way of taking things in stride and making the journey enjoyable

Of course, pregnancy with a little one already at home comes with its own set of challenges! Finding time for rest, preparing healthy meals, and squeezing in exercise can be a bit tricky when you’re also chasing after a busy toddler. But Sophie found a way and did a beautiful job of enjoying this pregnancy while giving her growing baby a healthy start.

When labor finally arrived, things moved quickly, just as we expected! Her first birth had been fast, so we knew we needed to be ready to jump into action when that call came.

And sure enough, we had only been at their home for about two hours before sweet baby Edith made her appearance! 💕

Just like that, Sophie and Samuel became a family with two darling little girls! What a precious season of life they have stepped into.

One of the things we were especially thankful for was Sophie’s much smoother postpartum experience this time around. After experiencing a postpartum hemorrhage with her first birth, we were so grateful that this birth didn’t bring those same complications. What a gift to be able to settle into recovery and enjoy those first sweet days with her newborn without the added challenges she had faced before.

There is something so special about being invited back into a family’s life for another birth. We get to see how they’ve grown in confidence, watch their family expand, and share in the joy of welcoming another little blessing.

We are just so happy to serve Sophie and Samuel and their precious girls. Families like theirs make our job easy, meaningful, and so much fun!

Welcome to the world, sweet Edith! You are already so loved.

Meet Sarah! ❤️

Sarah brings laughter, compassion, and a heart to serve wherever she’s needed. She has supported countless families as a birth assistant, and her years of experience as a midwife bring such a unique perspective to the birth team. ✨

She and our midwives have attended so many births together that she often seems to know exactly what’s needed before anyone even has to ask! Her ability to anticipate, stay calm, and step in wherever she’s needed makes her an incredibly intuitive and valuable part of our team.

But Sarah’s care extends far beyond the birth room. She cares deeply for our families, loves our team well, and brings a steady presence that helps hold WBA together.

We’re so thankful for Sarah and the many ways she serves—often quietly behind the scenes, but always making a difference. 🤍

We’re blessed to have you, Sarah! 💖

Birth Story Time

Rebekah & Daniel

Rebekah is a healthy, athletic, crunchy young woman who knew from the beginning that she wanted a natural, low-intervention birth.

When she first came to WBA, she expressed her desires, asked thoughtful questions, and began preparing for the birth she was hoping for.

Pregnancy wasn’t always easy for her. She struggled with discomforts that made it difficult to do some of the things she loved, like eating well and exercising as much as she wanted. For an athletic young woman who was used to pushing herself, this was an adjustment! But along the way, with the encouragement of her fiancé, Daniel, she learned to do her best while also giving herself grace when things didn’t go quite as expected.

Daniel was an integral part of the whole process. He faithfully sifted through emails, helped Rebekah navigate the information, and worked alongside her to understand all the details that go into planning an out-of-hospital birth. He was invested from the beginning!

When labor finally rolled around, Rebekah was experiencing quite a bit of back pain. By the time she arrived at the birth suite around midday, it was clear we had some work to do to help this little one find a better position for birth.

She was 4 cm dilated, and we jumped right into side-lying releases and Spinning Babies positioning techniques to encourage her posterior (OP) baby to rotate into a more favorable anterior position.

Thankfully, just a few hours later, she was 6 cm, moving into active labor, and baby was settling into a much better position!

With Daniel and her mom faithfully by her side, Rebekah worked her way through labor hour by hour, and sometimes minute by minute.

One thing about athletes is that they often have a strong internal gauge for digging deep and pushing through hard things. Rebekah certainly had that determination! But this birth asked a lot of her. It wasn’t easy, and there were moments when she had to reach deep for the strength to keep going.

Our team did everything we could to come alongside her, encourage her, and support her through each stage of labor.

And finally, at 9:47 on July 31, her beautiful baby girl made her appearance! 💕

It wasn’t an easy birth, but it was doable. God gave Rebekah the strength she needed, and she was surrounded by people who loved her and stood by her every step of the way.

And Daniel? Well, I think he discovered that having a baby is actually a LOT of physical work for dads, too! 😂 He was right there in the thick of it, sometimes literally sweating his way through the labor alongside her! What a gift to see a man so invested in caring for the woman he loves.

The immediate postpartum period brought some additional challenges, and healing required patience and time. Once again, Rebekah had to learn to slow down, give herself grace, and allow her body the time it needed to recover. Little by little, she began feeling stronger and more like herself.

Today, they are just the cutest little family! Their sweet baby girl is doing well, and Rebekah and Daniel are learning together what it means to trust God more and more through every season.

Birth has a way of stretching us, humbling us, and reminding us that we are stronger than we sometimes realize, especially when we lean on the Lord and the people He places around us.

What a privilege it was to walk alongside this sweet family and witness their strength, love, and perseverance as they welcomed their precious daughter into the world. ❤️

Happy Midwifery Week to our incredible WBA midwives! 🤍

Midwifery is so much more than catching babies.

It’s answering the late-night questions.
It’s sitting beside a mama when things don’t go as planned.
It’s celebrating the victories and carrying families through the hard moments.
It’s listening, educating, encouraging, advocating, and sometimes simply holding a hand.
It’s praying with families, believing in them, and showing up again and again.

Our midwives pour so much of themselves into the families they serve, but what makes WBA especially meaningful is the way they pour into each other, too.

We are incredibly grateful for the years of experience, wisdom, compassion, humor, strength, and faith each of our midwives brings to this team. We know this work is a calling, and we don't take lightly the privilege of being invited into some of the most sacred moments in a family's life.

To every midwife who has helped shape WBA—thank you for the countless hours, the long births, the prayers, the laughter, the hard days, and all the beautiful moments in between.

We are so thankful for the women you are and the way you serve. ✨️

Happy Midwifery Week! We love our WBA midwives! ❤️

Postpartum care isn't just about checking how your body is healing.

It's also about checking on your heart and your mind. 🤍

The days and weeks after birth can bring so many emotions. There is joy and gratitude, but there can also be exhaustion, uncertainty, overwhelm, and moments when you wonder if you're doing this right.

At WBA, we believe mom deserves care, too. During postpartum visits, we take time to check in on how you're feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally—not just how baby is doing.

We want you to feel comfortable sharing the hard things, asking questions, and letting us know when something doesn't feel right. Sometimes you need encouragement, sometimes you need practical support, and sometimes you may need additional care. Whatever the need, you don't have to navigate this season alone.

We believe caring for baby starts with caring for mom, too. And it is our privilege to walk alongside you through this beautiful, exhausting, and life-changing season. 🤍

Mama, how are you really doing?

If you're looking for postpartum care that supports the whole woman, we'd love to connect with you. Schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet to learn more about WBA.
