POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) = your autonomic nervous system malfunctioning and is controlled by your brainstem and upper cervical spine.

You stand up, heart races, dizziness hits, you might pass out. Your heart rate jumps 30+ beats just from standing.
This isn't anxiety, but autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

What you're living with: Dizziness when upright, rapid heartbeat, extreme fatigue, brain fog, exercise intolerance, nausea, temperature dysregulation, feeling like your body is constantly betraying you.

Did you know that your autonomic nervous system is controlled by your brainstem and upper cervical spine (C1-C2)?

When upper neck has tension or imbalance, it affects brainstem function, vagus nerve communication, blood flow to brain, autonomic regulation.

How upper cervical chiropractic helps POTS:
Upper cervical adjustments support brainstem function and vagus nerve. Improved blood flow to brain reduces dizziness/brain fog, nervous system regulation improves over time, and reduced spinal stress = less burden on already-struggling autonomic system.

Research shows: Some POTS patients experience reduced dizzy spells, improved exercise tolerance, better cognitive function, decreased heart rate fluctuations, improved quality of life with upper cervical care.

When we support that foundation, some patients find their body can regulate better.
You deserve support that addresses the nervous system foundation - not just symptom management.

Through the chiropractic lens, we focus on supporting your body’s alignment, nervous system, and pelvic balance so baby has the best possible environment to grow and move into optimal positioning.

Dr. Maddy is Webster Certified, meaning she’s trained in a specific prenatal chiropractic technique that gently assesses and supports pelvic balance and ligament tension, helping reduce stress on the uterus and supporting more optimal fetal positioning.

Beyond positioning, chiropractic care during pregnancy can also help with common discomforts like low back pain, pelvic pressure, sciatica, round ligament pain, nausea, sleep disturbances, and overall mobility, so your body can better adapt through each stage of pregnancy.

If you’re pregnant (or planning to be), chiropractic care can be a simple, natural way to support your body through every stage.

Postpartum is one of the most physically demanding seasons a woman will ever go through—yet so many of the discomforts get brushed off as “normal.”

Between feeding, lifting, rocking, bending, and carrying a growing baby (plus often other little ones), the body is placed under constant strain—especially through the spine, ribs, and mid-back. It’s not uncommon for moms to experience tension in these areas, headaches, or a general feeling of being “out of alignment” during this stage.

From a chiropractic perspective, we often see how changes in posture, repetitive lifting, and even nursing positions can impact the nervous system and musculoskeletal balance. When the body is under that kind of stress, it can affect everything from mobility to daily comfort.

This is why consistent, gentle chiropractic care can be so supportive during postpartum recovery. It’s not about “fixing” motherhood—it’s about helping the body adapt to it.

We see moms experience changes in:
• Mid-back and rib discomfort
• Headache frequency
• Overall mobility and ease of movement
• Even day-to-day tasks like nursing and holding baby

When the body is moving and functioning better, moms often notice they feel more present, less tense, and more supported through their day.

Your postpartum body deserves the same level of care you give everyone else.

Summer is a season where everything naturally shifts... routines loosen, stimulation increases, and days tend to feel a little less structured. That’s why we lean even more into simple, foundational habits that support the whole family’s health and nervous system regulation.

Nothing complicated, just consistent, intentional choices that help kids (and parents) feel more balanced, energized, and connected throughout the season.

Small shifts in how we live daily life can have a big impact on how the body adapts, heals, and thrives, especially in the summer months.

Summer break is here and the transition from structure to freedom can dysregulate your family's nervous systems. Here's how to prep for a regulated, enjoyable summer.

You'd think less structure = less stress. But for many families, summer creates MORE dysregulation:

Kids: Sudden routine loss (NS thrives on predictability), sleep chaos, more screens, boredom meltdowns, sibling conflicts

Parents: Kids home all day, disrupted work, planning stress, no break from parenting

Even "good" transitions affect nervous systems.

Prep your family's NS for summer:

1. Get everyone adjusted before summer starts and through summer

Kids carrying: Nine months sitting in chairs, heavy backpacks, poor posture, academic stress, minimal outdoor play. Get them adjusted = release accumulated stress, start summer with clean slate.

Parents carrying: School schedule stress, mental load, physical tension, sleep deprivation. Get adjusted = NS can shift into summer mode instead of staying stuck in survival.

2. Create summer rhythm (not rigid schedule)

NS needs predictable patterns:
✅Consistent wake/sleep times (later is fine, just consistent)
✅ Meal rhythm (blood sugar stability affects NS)
✅ Daily outdoor time
✅ Screen-free times (meals, before bed)
✅ Wind-down before bed

3. Prioritize movement & nature for NS reset

After nine months of sitting and screens, summer is chance to let NS breathe through movement and nature.

Movement regulates NS: Activates parasympathetic, releases tension, improves sleep, reduces anxiety, builds resilience

Nature regulates NS: Reduces cortisol, lowers heart rate, improves mood, provides calming sensory input, supports circadian rhythm

Goal: 30+ minutes daily.

4. Maintain chiropractic care through summer

Common mistake: Stopping care over summer. What happens: Three months without adjustments = NS and spines shift back toward dysfunction. By September, starting over.

Consistent summer care = family ENJOYS summer instead of surviving it.
