You may be wondering, as we wrap up the first themed week of Pride Month on the different types of sexuality how it factors into your self-care routine. The short answer is, if you have discovered something new about yourself or uncovered a repressed known about yourself, to have a bit of self-compassion and acceptance for yourself. *Never* be afraid to reach out to our cognitive behaviorial specialist for help, as she is knowledgeable about the LGBTQ+ community and how having a sexuality that deviates from the expected norm can impact one's life. That said, another way you can practice good self-care is figuring out who you can and can't come out to. Deciding to tell someone something so personal about yourself is at times a difficult choice because, as we saw with Friday's fact, LGBTQ+ people often face real danger for being openly who they are. That's why we at A Safe Haven Health and Wellness *strongly* advise that you protect your own safety and well-being before you decide to come out. We are always going to be a safe place where you can do that, with the confidentiality and privacy you deserve through our HIPPA secure electronic record management system.
