Meet Austin Andrews, MSW, LCSW-A

I’m Austin, currently a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate, and I offer a calm and supportive environment for individuals 8 and older to navigate the curves and challenges. I believe in an eclectic and holistic approach to therapy that draws on the techniques and knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play-Based Techniques, and a Client-Centered Approach. We’ll work together to develop coping skills, identify personal strengths, and build the resilience to overcome personal challenges.

Including my undergraduate degree in psychology and time working for a therapeutic group home, I have an understanding of how to work with individuals going through difficult times and can draw on brain/body functioning to increase awareness of how you are impacted during these times. uniquely you and how to use them to confront challenges. I have experience with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I provide a space for youth and teens, young and older adults, as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time out in nature (with my dogs!), playing video
games (the Dark Souls series is a personal favorite!), engaging in philosophy, and creating art (whether it’s a painting, poem, sketch, or song.)

Austin is accepting new clients, in person and virtual! Contact us at 910-489-6994 or email [email protected] to get set up!

We have some new faces at Embolden Counseling! Meet Alexandria Durr, MA, LCMHC, NCC, CTP
Hi, my name is Alexandria (she/her) and I’m honored to have the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth. I aim to collaborate with you to navigate life’s challenges while exploring your core values and developing effective coping strategies. I strive to make every client feel safe and accepted within the therapeutic environment. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (18361) and National Certified Counselor ( #1624629), as well as a Certified Trauma Professional ( #863047). I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Campbell University and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
I have enjoyed working with individuals in a variety of treatment settings including community mental health, private practice, and facility-based services. My experience has included working in crisis assessment, school-based services, and treatment centers for individuals struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns. I am passionate about working with individuals facing past traumas and current stressors, ranging from low self-esteem and body image distress to life transitions and identity concerns. I pride myself on taking a systems-based approach to care and understanding the impact our context has on our abilities to cope with and manage what life throws our way. I incorporate elements of several evidence-based practices in my treatment approach including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative approaches. I also aim to incorporate elements of mindfulness-based strategies and techniques into my work, and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am passionate about taking a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to care to enable you to feel safe within the therapeutic environment and empowered to reach your goals.

Alex is accepting new clients, virtual only. Contact at 910-489-6994 or email [email protected]!
