Why does some speech therapy just look like playtime?

Because when children are having fun, they’re often more motivated to connect, communicate, and practice new skills.

That game of pretend? It may be building language
Taking turns? That’s communication practice.
Naming toys? That’s vocabulary building.

Kids’ jobs are to play, and we are here to help target their goals in a way that is motivating to them and helps them learn! Play has purpose 🧸

It never hurts to get an expert’s opinion, and to walk away with knowledge and support regarding your child’s speech and language development (even if they end up being on track for their age!)

You may have already seen her face around the office, but we want to officially welcome Bri to the team!

Bri McDonough received her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Purdue University. She has practiced in schools, interdisciplinary pediatric clinics, and private practice settings. She specializes in literacy/dyslexia, but is also confident treating a variety of areas including speech, language, stuttering, and AAC. Bri cares deeply about helping children grow into more capable and confident communicators and learners.

In her free time, Bri enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and being outdoors (especially walks with her dog, Ruby).

We are so grateful to have her! Teach our today if you want to get on her schedule!
