🔒 Before posting, take a moment to:
• Avoid sharing your child’s full name, school, classroom, teacher, or daily schedule.
• Check photos for visible addresses, name tags, bus numbers, or other identifying details.
• Turn off location tagging when posting school-related photos.
• Consider who can see your post and adjust your privacy settings.
• Ask permission before posting photos of other children.

Kasey Raveling and Alison Boughn, staff from the CAC in Sioux City, had the opportunity to present this week at the Dallas Crimes Against Children Conference.

They lead an engaging session that inspired thought provoking questions and discussion from the attendees. Great job representing Iowa so well!

Meet our opening keynote speaker, Judge Robert Lung.

Judge Lung served as a judicial officer for over twenty-two years in Colorado until his retirement from the bench in 2025. After retiring, Judge Lung began his own mediation practice. He also provides presentations nationally and internationally on issues such as human trafficking, childhood trauma and resiliency to an exceptionally diverse audience base including the military, the medical field, the educational field, judiciaries, human services, faith-based organizations, mental health professionals and law enforcement.

Judge Lung has served on a number of councils and comes to us with extensive knowledge and history dealing with children and trauma.

We could not let the week end without taking a moment to recognize our incredible Forensic Interviewers across the state.

Thank you for being a calm and comforting presence to children when they need you most. Your "tell me" prompts never go unappreciated nor does your expertise both in the office and in the court room.

Last week, while our CACs and Director were in DC, they had the opportunity to go to Capitol Hill where they met with Congresswoman Miller-Meeks and staff from the offices of Congresswoman Hinson, Congressman Nunn, and Senator Grassley.
