Flew to Tamale in the northern region of Ghana to open the Smiles for Speech early learning center. It’s been quite the journey…. Very long days, lots to do. Best part of trip ….. getting to talk to/work with families and their children about their child’s communication. That’s why we’re here. Feels like we’re just barely scratching the surface here with the level of need. Hoping supports continue to grow for the people of Ghana and SFS can continue to grow this mission. No matter the language you speak or culture you come from, we all want our child to have a voice and be supported.❤️

Amazing cultural day in Accra… Independence Arch, WEB DuBois last home/resting place, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and the Art Center/market for shopping/negotiating!! So much history here, with Ghana leading the way in the fight for liberation (gaining independence in 1957)🇬🇭🇬🇭

I am raising funds to support the children and families in the northern region that we'll be working with and to help support the opening of a new early learning center. Hello friends/families! Here's a great local (Ann Arbor/UofM) opportunity to participate in some cutting edge research on stuttering. If you or someone you know might benefit, here is info on the research and who they are looking for. . .

Our research team has made significant progress over the past 10 years examining brain development in young children to better understand the cause of stuttering and to gain information that may eventually lead to improved diagnosis and treatment efforts. We are actively enrolling children who stutter between the ages of 6 and 13 years old, and adults who stutter between the ages 18-65, to participate in studies in Ann Arbor. We are hoping you may be able to help us with this process!
