💜 SU***DE AWARENESS | A MESSAGE WE NEED TO HEAR 💜
What if someone you love is struggling in silence?
Sometimes, the person who is hurting the most doesn't look like they are hurting at all.
They smile.
They go to work.
They go to school.
They take care of their families.
They answer, “I'm fine.”
But behind that answer may be a very different story.
Imagine this is a letter from someone who was experiencing suicidal thoughts:
“I didn't want people to think I was weak. I didn't want to be a burden. I didn't know how to explain what was happening inside my head.
There were moments when I couldn't see a way forward. I wasn't looking for attention. I was hurting, and I didn't know how to make the pain stop.
What changed things wasn't someone having the perfect answer.
Someone noticed.
Someone asked.
Someone listened without judgment.
And for the first time, I felt like maybe I didn't have to carry everything by myself.
Asking for help didn't make me weak. It gave me another chance.
If you're struggling right now, please tell someone. You don't have to have the right words. You don't have to wait until things get worse.
Just take the next step.
You are still here. And there is still hope.”
💜 THIS IS WHY SU***DE AWARENESS MATTERS.
Su***de prevention begins with awareness, connection, compassion, and conversations that may feel uncomfortable—but could ultimately save a life.
Know the warning signs.
Ask the question.
Listen without judgment.
Take suicidal thoughts seriously.
Help connect someone to support.
You do not have to be a therapist to make a difference. Sometimes, simply being the person who notices and says, “I'm here. Tell me what's going on,” can be the beginning of someone getting help.
At Envision Counseling, we believe mental health support should be available before someone reaches a breaking point. Reaching out is not a weakness. It is a step toward hope.
💜 If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or having thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
You are not a burden.
You are not alone.
Your life matters.
