Your cycle can have a bigger impact on lipedema symptoms than many people realize.

Throughout the month, hormonal shifts can influence swelling, leg heaviness, tenderness, pain levels, energy, and even how your body responds to movement or compression.

For many women with lipedema, this can feel like symptoms “come and go” without a clear pattern.

The good news is, once you start noticing those patterns, things feel a little less confusing.

You can plan your movement, nutrition, rest, and self-care in a way that actually supports your body instead of working against it.

Some phases may feel easier, while others bring more inflammation or fluid retention.

Neither is wrong. It’s just information your body is giving you.

Swipe through to see what you might notice in each phase and simple ways to support yourself along the way.

A diagnosis doesn't define you. It gives you the information and tools to move forward with clarity.

💜 During Lipedema Awareness Month, I keep coming back to this message.

For many women, receiving a lipedema diagnosis isn't about getting a label. It's about finally having answers.

It's understanding why your symptoms haven't responded the way you expected.

It's recognizing that the pain, heaviness, easy bruising, swelling, and disproportionate fat distribution you've experienced are real.

And it's gaining access to the resources, providers, treatments, and support systems that can help you better manage your condition.

A diagnosis doesn't change who you are.

What it can do is replace confusion with understanding and uncertainty with a plan.

This Lipedema Awareness Month, let's continue raising awareness, advocating for earlier diagnosis, and helping more women get the answers they deserve. 💜

A lipedema diagnosis is about so much more than having a name for your symptoms.

For many women, it's the first step toward understanding their body, accessing appropriate care, and building a treatment plan that actually makes sense for what they're experiencing.

Unfortunately, lipedema is often misunderstood or misdiagnosed, leaving people feeling frustrated and unsure where to turn next.

The good news? You don't necessarily have to wait for a formal diagnosis to begin seeking support.

As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and Occupational Therapist (OT), I can help evaluate your symptoms, provide conservative treatment recommendations, and guide you through the process of obtaining a medical diagnosis when appropriate.

In this carousel, I'm sharing:
💜 Why getting diagnosed matters
💜 How a diagnosis can impact treatment options
💜 Insurance and coverage considerations
💜 The role of a CLT in lipedema care

If you've been wondering whether your symptoms could be lipedema, this information is for you.

Save this post for later and share it with someone who may be searching for answers. 💜

💜 In honor of Lipedema Awareness Month, I want to share a resource that's become one of my favorite ways to support women on their lipedema journey...

💜 The Magothy Therapy & Wellness Journal!

As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Occupational Therapist, I know that living with lipedema involves so much more than managing symptoms.

It means navigating changes in your body, tracking what works, advocating for your needs, and finding ways to care for yourself through every stage of the journey.

That's exactly why I created this journal.

Inside, you'll find:
✨ Lipedema symptom and staging guidance
✨ Space to track measurements, swelling, pain, and changes
✨ Compression, movement, and therapy logs
✨ Self-reflection prompts to help you identify patterns
✨ Encouragement for the days when progress feels slow
✨ A dedicated place to keep your health information organized

This journal isn't about perfection or checking every box.

It's about building awareness, understanding your body better, and feeling more empowered in your care.

Because when it comes to lipedema, knowledge truly is power. And the more we track, learn, and advocate, the better equipped we are to make informed decisions about our health. 💜

If you'd like a copy, send me a message, leave a comment below, or ask me about it in clinic!

June is Lipedema Awareness Month, and from my lens as a CLT and OT, this one always feels personal. 💜

So many women are living with lipedema without a name for what they’re experiencing.

They’re told to “just lose weight,” when what they really need is understanding, support, and care that actually fits their body.

In the clinic, I see how much difference it makes when someone finally feels seen. When we shift from blame to biology, everything changes.

This month is about more than education. It’s about spreading awareness & advocating for better care so people don’t have to spend years searching for answers.

If you’re on this journey, you are not alone, and you deserve support that honors your experience!

Let’s keep the conversation going, share what we know, and make space for better understanding in healthcare and beyond. 💜

June is here and you know what that means. . .

⏰ Feel it on the first!

I'm here with a gentle reminder to take a few minutes today to check in with your body.

Monthly self breast exams are one small habit that can help you notice changes early and stay connected to your health.

There’s no “perfect” way to do it. What matters most is getting familiar with what’s normal for YOU.

Here’s your reminder to:
✨ Schedule that mammogram
✨ Do your monthly self-check
✨ Listen when your body is trying to tell you something
✨ Encourage the women you love to do the same

Early detection matters, friend.

Save this as your monthly reminder and share it with someone you care about. 💕

Have you seen these new lymphatic support supplements yet? 👀

I'm always getting questions about what people can do between sessions to better support swelling, heaviness, fluid retention, and overall lymphatic health.

These are two newer options that may help support your body from the inside out ✨

LIPERA Lymphatic Support was designed specifically for those managing lipedema and lymphedema and may help support swelling, tenderness, skin texture, inflammation, and daily energy levels.

LYMPHA Support Drops are designed to support healthy lymphatic flow, circulation, fluid movement, and daily comfort for those dealing with heaviness, swelling, or fluid buildup.

While supplements are never a replacement for foundational care like compression, movement, hydration, and lymphatic therapy, they may be another helpful tool for supporting your body day to day 🌿

Want more info on either one?

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country ❤️🤍💙

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer. It’s a time to reflect with gratitude for those who served and gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

From all of us at Magothy Therapy & Wellness, we are thinking of the military families, loved ones, and communities carrying both pride and loss today.

Wishing everyone a safe, meaningful, and peaceful Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Spring and summer weather can be beautiful… and still hard on your body ☀️

Warmer temperatures, travel, changes in routine, inflammation, swelling, fatigue, and the pressure to “keep up” can make this season feel overwhelming for those living with chronic illness or lymphatic conditions.

This is your reminder that supporting your body in summer may look different than it does in other seasons. Maybe it means wearing your compression consistently, drinking more water, resting without guilt, saying no to activities that flare your symptoms, or slowing down when your body asks you to.

That isn’t weakness.
That’s care.
That’s wisdom.

Save this as your reminder to work with your body this summer, not against it.

If you’ve been dealing with symptoms that seem hard to manage, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to just push through them.

This is exactly where occupational therapy can help!
