🔬 A significant advancement in sulforaphane science.✨

A newly published randomized, double-blind human clinical trial demonstrates a measurable improvement in sulforaphane conversion using TrueBroc® glucoraphanin — developed by Brassica Protection Products.

When paired with active mustard seed–derived myrosinase, bioavailability increased from 19% to 40% — effectively doubling conversion efficiency in humans. 📈

Early-phase absorption (0–8 hours) was more than threefold higher when myrosinase was included, supporting small-intestinal formation rather than reliance solely on colonic microbiota.

🥦 The paper explores how sulforaphane, a broccoli-derived bioactive, intersects with sex-specific conditions and hormone balance, including its role in endocrine signaling, inflammation, and cellular defense pathways.

Dr. Fahey’s work builds on a remarkable scientific lineage. Working closely with the late Dr. Paul Talalay — whose trailblazing contributions to biomedical science saw him elected to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences — and Dr. Yuesheng Zhang, this body of research helped establish the modern understanding of sulforaphane, glucoraphanin, and Nrf2 activation.

Ottolenghi’s Roasted Broccoli with Chili & Garlic Oil (Quick Recipe)

Ingredients:
• 1 large head broccoli, cut into long florets
• 3 tbsp olive oil
• 3–4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
• 1 red chili, finely sliced (or ½ tsp chili flakes)
• Zest of 1 lemon
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
• Salt + pepper
• Optional: toasted almonds or sesame seeds

Method:
1. Heat oven to 220°C / 425°F.
2. Toss broccoli with 2 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper.
3. Spread on a tray and roast 15–20 minutes, until edges are charred and crisp.
4. Meanwhile, warm the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil in a small pan. Add garlic and chili.
Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t brown the garlic).
5. Remove broccoli from oven. Drizzle with the warm chili–garlic oil.
6. Add lemon zest + juice. Toss gently.
7. Finish with toasted nuts or seeds if you like.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Perfect Thanksgiving side.🙏🥦
