Just left the A4M pediatrics reimagined conference, and I'm still buzzing 🥰

One of my favorite mentors asked the crowd: "Why are you here?"

Why'd I leave home, miss my kids' games, trade my bed for a hotel one? The answer was simple:

Because our kids deserve better 💜
and as a pediatric provider, I can *do* better.

Everything I learned this weekend was exactly what I've been searching for. That nagging "there must be something more" feeling I've had for years? I was right.

Functional medicine is the icing on top of conventional medicine. And not the boring kind…the old-school, made-with-coffee, secret-family-recipe kind of icing 😝

So grateful to be on this journey alongside the bravest, most inspiring providers around 🙌

Lately, I’ve been wearing two hats... pediatric provider and mom trying to get answers for my own son.

We’ve been dealing with some ongoing fatigue and health concerns that have led us into specialist appointments, waiting rooms, and that familiar parent role of trying to piece together the whole story.

And even with my medical background, it’s a lot.

It’s reminded me how quickly parents become the unofficial medical detective when a child’s health gets more complicated. You’re carrying information between providers while trying to figure out what matters and what comes next.

It’s also reinforced something I believe to my core about primary care.

When your child needs a specialist, your primary care provider shouldn’t disappear from the picture. Having someone who knows your child and can stay involved gives your family a home base and advocate while you work toward answers.
