The past three weeks have been heavy, full, and stretching in ways I didn’t expect. I experienced a deep loss—someone who was more than just one title in my life, but a friend, family, sister, and classmate. It was a hard hit, and the weight of it has been real.
But even in the heaviness, God has given me the strength to keep going—to put one foot in front of the other when it wasn’t easy. Not perfectly, not without emotion, but faithfully.

Yesterday, I made space to step outside, breathe in fresh air, and simply enjoy the sunshine. That moment reminded me how important it is to care for our mental and emotional well-being. As a therapist, I often encourage others to practice self-care—but this season reminded me that I must also live what I teach.

Grief and busyness can coexist, but so can gratitude. I’m grateful for the memories, for the strength to persevere, and for the gentle reminder that stepping away, even briefly, is necessary.

To anyone navigating a difficult season: keep going. Even small steps count. Put God first and allow Him to guide your path—He will walk with you every step of the way.

Take care of yourself. You deserve that, too. ❤️
