Betty Carolyn Tucker Foster, age 76, of Lincoln, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 8, 2026, following a long illness.

Carolyn was born on September 10, 1949, in Oneonta, Alabama, to Plez L. Tucker and Nora Belle Sinn Tucker. She was a 1967 graduate of Oneonta High School and went on to pursue cosmetology, becoming a licensed beautician. While raising her three children, Carolyn owned and operated Carolyn’s Beauty Shop in Altoona, Alabama. She later began a career at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, where she served as a Billing Insurance Supervisor until her retirement.

A Baptist by faith, Carolyn enjoyed the simple things that made life full. She loved playing cards, fishing, ceramics, reading, crocheting, propagating plants, and spending time with her cats. Music was another favorite, and she especially enjoyed listening to Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty, and Toby Keith. Above all, Carolyn treasured time spent with her family and friends.

Carolyn loved her family deeply and took great joy in the generations that followed her. While each held a special place in her heart, she shared an especially precious bond with her great-granddaughter, Norah Bradford.

She is survived by her children, Jonathan J. Foster (Christa), Cynthia F. Bash, and Susanne F. Bradford; grandchildren, Jonathan “Jaye” J. Foster II, Brandt H. Foster, Kyleigh F. James (Anthony), Hannah L. Lagan, Matthew L. Lagan, Michael A....

Yong Sun Faircloth, age 69, passed away on August 4, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1957, and throughout her life she shared her heart with others in the way she knew best: food, family, and unwavering love.

For Yong Sun, cooking was far more than preparing a meal; it was her love language. Her home was always open, and she delighted in filling it with as many family members and friends as she could gather around her table. Her meals were famously spicy, and if you couldn't quite handle the heat, she made sure you never forgot it with her playful teasing. Every Thanksgiving, loved ones eagerly anticipated the Korean wontons that had become her signature tradition. While her family has carefully preserved the treasured recipe, they know the dish will never taste quite the same without the love and care that only she could put into every bite.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Yong Sun adored her grandchildren and was endlessly proud of each of them. She never needed a special occasion to show her love. She was just as likely to surprise them by showing up unannounced to whisk them away for a day together, creating memories they will cherish forever. Those moments of laughter, love, and spontaneity are gifts that will remain with them always.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Sandra (David) Wray; her son, Shawn (Jennifer) Faircloth; and her four beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Yong Sun leaves behind a home...

Deborah "Debbie" Ann Detlefsen, born July 6, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday after a long and courageous battle with cirrhosis of the liver and kidney failure. She left this world wrapped in love — the same love she spent her entire life giving away freely, fiercely, and without conditions.

Debbie was the daughter of Larry and Geri Sjoberg, who raised her with unwavering devotion. They poured their hearts into raising a daughter who grew into a woman of extraordinary kindness, generosity, and strength. She grew up alongside her brothers Larry Jr. and Michael, teasing Larry Jr. endlessly that they were “basically the same age,” being only eleven months apart — a joke that always made her laugh and always made him groan.

When Debbie was young, her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where her world blossomed. She played violin and cello in the New Mexico Youth Symphony, filling concert halls with the same warmth she carried in her everyday life. She played softball as a teenager, bringing her competitive spark and joyful energy to every game. She graduated high school in New Mexico, where she met lifelong friends she cherished for decades — friendships that stayed strong through moves, marriages, and the changing seasons of life.

Debbie became a mother to two daughters, Ashley and Cynthia (“Cindy”), and poured her entire soul into raising them. Her love for her girls was fierce, protective, and endless.

Years later,...

James Edgar Randall, age 81, lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for his family, friends, golf, and basketball. To those who knew him best, however, he was simply and affectionately known as “Pops.”

Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1944, in Sylacauga, Alabama, James grew up as one of seven children with five sisters and one brother. He attended Hackneyville School, where his love of sports began early. A gifted athlete, James earned All-County honors in both basketball and track.

James carried the same determination he showed as an athlete into a lifetime of hard work. After leaving school, he began working at Russell Mills in Alexander City before beginning what would become a long and dedicated career with the Anniston Water Department. He served as a plant operator for 43 years before retiring.

Retirement, however, didn't last long. After two years, James returned to work and spent another 10 years as a plant operator with the Clay County Water Department. His more than five decades of service spoke volumes about the kind of man he was—dependable, hardworking, and always willing to keep going.

When he wasn't working, there was a good chance Pops could be found on a golf course or in a gym. For more than 30 years, he enjoyed early morning rounds of golf at Pine Hill with a special group of golfing friends. Those mornings brought much more than golf—they brought years of friendship, fellowship, stories, and plenty...

Patricia Ann Williams Anthony, affectionately known as Tricia, passed away on July 31, 2026, at the age of 60.

Raised in Fruithurst, Alabama, and later making her home in Heflin, she was a full of energy and spirit from the very beginning. She was full of personality, loved to have fun, and had a contagious laugh that could fill a room. If you knew her, chances are you have a story that still makes you smile.

Life was not always easy for her. She traveled some difficult roads and fought battles that were often bigger than those around her could see. But through all of it, one thing remained true — she loved big. She loved in her own way, with a heart that could be as fierce as the woman herself.

She was the proud mother of her son, Michael Anthony, and her daughter, Jessica Anthony, who passed away in 2021. Her love for Michael never wavered, even through the difficult seasons of life, and she held onto the hope that one day they would find their way back to one another. In the end, that hope was fulfilled. Michael was able to be by his mother’s side, to say goodbye, and to give her the forgiveness she had long hoped for. It was a final gift of love and peace between a mother and her son.

She was also the grandmother of Aaron Anthony.

She leaves behind her son, Michael; her grandson Aaron; her sister Tracey Austin , niece Amanda Alred, nephew Davis Alred (Tiffany) several more nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and many friends and extended...
