Riverplace Counseling Center is honored to be one of the presenting community partners for the 3rd Annual Minnesota Timberwolves Recovery Night on Thursday, March 5, 2026!

This special night of fellowship will include a ticket to the Raptors vs Timberwolves game and a pre-game meeting with featured speaker, Willie Burton. Willie was selected in the 1st round of the NBA draft, played for over 9 NBA seasons and is a member of the University of Minnesota Hall of Fame. Come hear his inspirational message of hope and recovery!

We’re pleased to share an exciting update regarding our Justice-Involved programming at the Anoka County Workhouse.

In response to growing need and strong collaboration, Riverplace Counseling Center has expanded our Change by Design program by opening an additional Phase 1 track. With this expansion, we are now operating two Phase 1 Change by Design tracks, increasing access to structured, evidence-based treatment for individuals involved in the justice system.

This growth reflects our continued commitment to providing accountable, recovery-oriented care while supporting public safety and positive outcomes for individuals, families, and the broader community. We are deeply grateful for the partnerships and shared mission that made this expansion possible.

We’re Hiring: LADC/ADC-T Primary Counselor – Justice-Involved Programming
Riverplace Counseling Center – Anoka, MN

Riverplace Counseling Center is expanding our justice-involved programming and we’re looking for a passionate, mission-driven professional to join our clinical team.

We are seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or Alcohol and Drug Counselor – Temporary Permit (ADC-T) who is committed to delivering high-quality, client-centered substance use treatment in a justice-involved setting. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals navigating early recovery, complex systems, and significant life transitions.

🔹 About the Role
The Primary Counselor will provide comprehensive clinical services in alignment with Minnesota Statute 245G, including assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary partners (probation, CPS, commitment workers, and other referring agencies).

🔹 Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate small and psychoeducation groups
• Maintain a caseload and complete all documentation within 245G timelines
• Conduct individual treatment sessions and provide client-centered treatment planning
• Participate in weekly clinical team meetings and coordinate care across systems
• Complete utilization reviews and support clients in securing funding
• Build rapport, support recovery goals, and provide appropriate referrals
• Maintain professional boundaries, seek ongoing development, and uphold ethical standards

🔹 Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who are:
• Licensed as an LADC or hold a valid ADC-T temporary permit in Minnesota
• Knowledgeable in 245G compliance, documentation standards, and client rights
• Able to obtain clearance to work in a justice-involved facility
• Dedicated to professionalism, teamwork, and recovery-oriented care

🔹 Schedule & Compensation
Shift: First Shift (Primarily Monday–Friday)
Compensation: $60,000–$80,000/year, based on experience and credentials

As our Lead PRSS, you will:
• Provide individualized peer support to individuals in treatment and early recovery
• Promote recovery goals, empowerment, and natural supports
• Serve as a mentor, advocate, and role model

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team
• Offer leadership and guidance to our PRSS team

What a night!

The Minnesota Twins have been supporting and celebrating the recovery community for over 23 years, THANK YOU!

Another huge thank you to Minnesota Recovery Connection and everyone who came out for the Rally Caps for Recovery game last night. It was an incredible evening to come together, celebrate recovery, and share the hope and strength of community.

Special appreciation to our Riverplace Counseling Center tech team for their hard work behind the scenes and to the Riverplace staff who joined us to helped make the night memorable.

There is real power in gathering to celebrate recovery as it reminds us that none of us walk this journey alone.
